When you have lots of thoughts spinning around your head – and loads of things to do in your life – then some of your best ideas can be lost amongst everything else. We’ve all been in situations where an idea pops into your head, but you forget about it before you have a chance to make a note of it.
As a result, you need to come up with smart ways of keeping track of your ideas. You can jot them down in a notebook, but this isn’t the most creative idea in the world! Instead, why don’t you try these three ideas:

Creating mind maps is a fantastic way to write down all of your ideas and thoughts. I love making them as you can let your thoughts flow and breed ideas from your initial idea. They’re a great business tool as well, many companies will use mind maps to help figure out if their ideas work, and what can be achieved with them.
I find them especially productive if you have loads of questions or thoughts surrounding an idea. Or, they work perfectly when you have an idea that can be taken in lots of different directions. A mind map lets you, well, map out the different paths you can go down.

A scrapbook works wonderfully if you want to visualize your ideas. They’re mainly used when you have an idea, and you want to create goals or think about what can be achieved with the ideas. There are plenty of scrapbook ideas out there to get inspiration from, and this is a genuinely creative way of tracking your ideas. Whenever you have a new thought, you can write it down and then add visuals to it in your scrapbook.
For me, this is a fun way of putting some of your thoughts and dreams onto paper. You’ll collect them all in one place, and you can almost plan out what you’ll do with the ideas.
You might think that storyboards are only useful when you’re planning a film or TV show. However, they’re extremely handy if you want to make a note of your ideas. With a storyboard, you can create the story of your idea on a page. Start with the idea, then decide what you’ll do next. Slowly but surely, you build out this idea and have a clear understanding of what you will do with it.
Again, storyboards bring out your creative side and help you visualize your future success. They also provide you with a pretty good plan to follow as you pursue this idea.
If you don’t keep track of your ideas, then you’ll lose them! The worst thing to happen to someone is that they have an amazing idea but lose it. Then, they see someone else had the same idea and became very successful off the back of it. That could’ve been you – if only you had a good way of keeping track of your clever ideas. Now you do, so there are no excuses.
