Hey Everyone
Well.. A LOT has happened since I last wrote.
sometime wed evening my eye started bothering me again like it was a couple weeks ago. I again, could associate it with being outside and leaf blowing/weed eating/ mowing going on so I was like for god sake seriously. I just hoped it wasn’t as bad this go around… I know that when I was in walmart with David picking up a few things it was seriously ill.We came home, watched Riverdale and since he was going to be off the next day (thursday/his birthday) because of that concert we ended up staying up a little late but .. anyways..
David was going to go to check on the title for the truck that mysteriously never made it to our mailbox-but showed up on informed delivery about 2 months ago… so he left super early to do that and my eye was of course not happy. I slept a little while after he left but not very long- maybe like 20 min or so.. I had got up to check on sam or something- I really don’t remember…Anyways I had popped on facebook for a second and about 5 minutes to 8 my mom called me to tell me that my grandpa had died.
I was shocked, but not shocked if that makes since? I was pretty sick over it – threw up some, was super cold and shaking. Thankfully David wasn’t gone too long and I kept thinking at this point if I would be able to get some sleep my eye would be better. I kind of chalked it up to allergies and lack of sleep and what not…
well.. my eye just never did seem to get better.. We went to eat a late lunch/early diner and then we were going to go to the show. I tried and tried to rest my eye. Let me try to explain what my eye felt like- it felt like when it was closed that it had shampoo in it- like burning, stinging- aching.. and when it was open it was just strained /aching and watering so either way I went it wasn’t happy.
I made it through the majority of the concert- I think maybe 6 songs was all we didn’t get – and we would have left early anyways because so many people were there and we needed to get home and everything. Well.. by the time I got home my eye was just .. insanely hurting , I couldn’t seem to get comfy and wind down so I took a benadryl I kept thinking well.. it will be ok on Friday.
Friday morning it was super clear my eye was not interested in letting up in the pain dept. I finally just was like OK I have GOT to go the eye dr something is just NOT right with this.They worked me in an apt and all i did was pace the floor between around 10:30 and 12:30- That and I helped find a lost dog here at the apt place- which distracted me a little bit. I had went to go see if Kimberly in the office might could take me to the eye apt /pick me up if they had to dialate my eye or something. Well there was a dog by the mail box that had no one with it… and it was so super sweet and friendly and I stayed with it for a while..and got him to the office to get further help.
I have only ever drover our car one time. I absolutely HATE driving and being out alone lol. I’m a crumudge apparently ..anyways.. I was so stinking nervous about driving and the appointment .. I mean sure I could have called david and he could have taken off and took me but it was literally just 5 min up the road and I was like ok I can do this thing..
They were super nice to me and I was so nervous .. the Eye dr could tell right off the bat that I was in severe pain because my cornea was majorly pissed! She put those numbing drops in my eyes so they could find out why and that was the best ever because- for an hour or so I could actually SEE and my eye felt NORMAL … Anyways – she couldn’t figure out WHY but she was like your eye looks like it has a chemical burn- like someone sprayed hairspray right over my eye! I was like WHAAAT ? like I say we couldn’t figure out why but that was the gist of it. I went ahead and made an apt for an regular exam so I can get new glasses- that way she can look at it again .. they prescribed me some drops and I went home and slept for about 30 min or so , picked them up and went over to my moms to check on things for her…
The drops have helped A TON. I am doing 4 a day and … when I got to the 4th one on Friday I started having relief.. I’m on day 4 of them and my eye is tons better.. it is just weak and a tiny bit fuzzy.. but the pain is gone… still kind of sensative to light as well but i’m doing better by all means!
so what caused this chemical burn? Thanks to my dad I do have a pretty compelling theory…
Both times I have had this happen , you have noticed I have mentioned being outside without glasses/sunglasses taking marley out when weedeating/leafblowing/mowing is going on.I was telling my dad this and he asked me if I ever see them put out fertilizer or anything like that here.. I’m like yes, I have.. guess what? there could be microscopic piece of fertilizer that didn’t work into the ground… it goes through the air.. touches my eye just for a split second.. and that nitrogen could be the cause of my chemical burn! I have got to be super careful from now on you know? I mean there is an off chance he was wrong, but it has made the most logical sense so… i’m gonna go with it. ..
Well.. this has been long.. i’m gonna get off of here and do a few things before David gets home and I’ll update more after while
