Ever since I was a child I have preferred my foods to be Tangy, Spicy and Salty instead of sweet like most children would! I mean I like candy and sweets and all of that but above all I liked those things more, and I still do. I know that one time when I was younger my aunt was watching me put vinegar on something and she was telling me about how some people would drink a spoonful of vinegar every morning because they believed that it was good for you and I thought that was pretty cool.
I also had another aunt one time tell me she believed that I could eat fire because I love really spicy stuff. Keeping all that in mind I was pretty excited when I got the chance to include something tangy and spicy for review in my holiday gift guide called FIRE CIDER
Fire Cider is an awesome blend of apple cider vinegar organic oranges, lemons, onions, ginger, horseradish, habanero pepper, garlic and turmeric. Is your mouth watering yet? I know mine is 🙂 They let all of this seep for 6 weeks and then blend it up with some raw wildflower honey! The folks from fire cider sent me several related goodies including 2 bottles of the fire cider, a recipe book, a shot glass, speed pour and a rubber stopper you can put on top of that (and for some reason the last two aren’t in my picture-go figure) There are also other various goodies and various sizes to choose from!
You remember when I told you earlier that my aunt once told me about taking a spoonful of vinegar every day? This is precisely what she was talking about, but with a kick. The reason that you would do this you might ask? If you do it can help support immune function and digestive functions.
Fire cider comes in both sweetened (with the honey) and unsweetened (without) I was sent both, but my dad made tracks with the unsweetened and took it home with him when he and my mom brought us our new to us washer! It was funny because when I first got the Fire Cider David thought it was alcohol because it was in this little brown jug! Then I had him smell it and he would’t try it (he is always a spoilsport when it comes to that sort of thing) I tried it right away because my mouth was watering and I LOVED it. I did find it a bit more HOT than I had thought, but when you look at the ingredients it is fairly obvious why it is so “firey”.
You don’t have to stick to using fire cider just by itself, there are plenty of other ways that it can be used and they were gracious enough to send me the Fire Cider cookbook which has lots of nifty ways for you to use your fire cider. One of the ones I am most interested in trying sometime another is making the cole slaw with it! David doesn’t do cabbage , so I am going to have to wait until I get over to my moms sometime another to try that 🙂 I have however tried it as a salad dressing and mixed it with a tiny bit of white vinegar (I have got to have a bit more of a sour factor lol)
I absolutely adore the Fire Cider shot glass-it helps you measure what sort of dose you might want such as a daily dose, a winter daily dose or even some more creative ones such as curing a hangover! It is a really fun compliment to the fire cider for sure!
As I mentioned I also received the Fire cider easy pour spout & silicone stopper which makes it handy for pouring easily (especially with the the shot glass, and just in general so you don’t dash more than you intend! )Also the cap makes it easy to just leave your pour spout on the bottle, so you don’t have to switch in and out all the time.
I know that I am really enjoying my fire cider, and that my dad has enjoyed it even more than me so I will def. be looking into getting more in the future! With so many sizes and even having the unsweetened variety if you are spicy, tangy kind of person you should def. look into getting some for your self and see what you can create! OR if you are just a simple person you can at least just enjoy a daily dose/winter daily dose every day 🙂
