Hey Everyone
Well, I am not sure if you got a seemingly weird page before you accessed the site today or late yesterday but I’m trying to work on the whole GDPR thing and frankly…. I want to pull all my hair out or burn the internet /yank my site down /all the above. I didn’t think this had ANYTHING to do with the US – I thought it was all for shops and mailing lists and .. Well I guess I was wrong huh? Seriously between the FTC and GOOGLE it is enough to keep up with- didn’t need something else crazy to deal with. Especially when like 90% of bloggers I know don’t have a clue about it just Like me! Most people think its just for shops and newsletters with european users so ???? I think for the most part everyones trying to cover the butts!
Personally, I don’t do the whole google analytics thing- I don’t do a newsletter and I really don’t do giveaways. I also don’t do affiliate stuff and I don’t allow comments really anymore so.. whats left? Cookies? – That and I have a couple of plugins for tracking- but thats just so I can track stuff like when people are here and what they might be looking at. I wouldn’t know heads or tales about doing anything with anything you know?
Like I say I don’t really know if that popup page came up- but I am sure that the notice at the top and bottom showed up for you. I am sorry that it is like this but until I have more information + I want to be protected and everything you know? Like I say if someone contacted me and wanted their data removed I wouldn’t have the first incling of what the heck to do! I installed a ton of plugins that were recommended and scrambled to update some policies and get them visable. Other than that I don’t know what else to do at this time you know?
More and more blogging is becoming WORK and not fun. You can’t just write and ramble and have a good time anymore. Got to be so stinking serious. Like I say in the long run I don’t plan to not stick this thing out but yesterday made me seriously wonder .. I mean I’m already like let me get these 5 reviews done so I can breathe – let alone spending hours learning about something I don’t even know why I have to comply with it or HOW to comply OR even if someone asked me to delete something how to do- I guess i’ll deal with it as it comes along!
Anyways, I managed to fudge up the back end of my site and couldn’t get logged in so that just added to the frustration– and had to have everything disabled. Honestly though- it was a blessing. I had several back end problems that were plaguing me and now a lot of things work again that haven’t worked in a looong time 🙂 I got to upgrade WP and I think jetpack might be back to putting my posts up on social media automatically among some other things. It just took me all darn afternoon and part of the night to get things going “right”
Today has gotten away from me because it is the first day in a week I have gotten to read! Well I did read part of 50 shades last night (re-read) I just need to take it easy and wear my glasses more 🙂 Then my mom stopped by with some random stuff – She brought me records and the needle for my record player but I thought I had picked other records + she gave me one that there is NO WAY IN HECK I wanted so yeah. …
Right now I’m going to get offline or at least off the blog and morph into domestic gal and get some house stuff done. I had every intention of shaving yesterday or today but I don’t know that will happen or not! I need to go tanning but i’m too freaking lazy. I know we are doing leftovers for dinner so.. It is a rainy day or I would go tanning.. lol I don’t know. I am kind of at the point where 1-3 times a week is acceptable so.. whatever!
