I actually started this post when we got home but I ended up talking to my grandma on the phone and by the time I got off of the phone I needed to just unwind and watch tv so.. I’ll pick up where I left off!
Hey Everyone
Well.. I made it back from walmart in one piece/alive/etc. There isn’t a bottle of water to be found there nor at harris teeter or foodlion- we had even considered doing a 5 gallon one if we could but N O T H I N G Oh… and Aldi? let me back this story up a minute. Oh and before I do that- thank goodness David got gas!
We pull into Aldi, to find out they are doing the remodel that they were supposed to do a few months back so they were closed. I had ALL of my shopping planned out and most of it was stuff from Aldi! You all know how I am about grocery shopping to start with so this threw me out of whack big time! Plus, they aren’t opening back till some time in November so I will have to either go into town or just do walmart! We don’t really go to town so I guess we’ll just have to see when the time comes to go major grocery shopping again if it will be worth it.
We get in walmart and it was CHAOS MADNESS HELL PERILL I mean all of those words together would not even describe it. People on top of people. Random stuff totally wiped. I think I got the last hamburger buns, chicken broth and pack of ground chicken that existed! I like to never found scallions but got lucky and found some already chopped. There were people on top of people on top of people. It was worse than the black friday stuff you see on tv- there weren’t any fights but people were pushing and cutting in front of you and just plain being rude! I felt like seeing if I could get on the PA system and offer to pray for people.
I Had to greatly fine tune my list and then I kept on and on fine tuning it because I didn’t want to spend too much in walmart which of course isn’t hard to do. Like I say leave it to us to have legit needed to go grocery shopping at such a time- wouldn’t be my first time we have had snow and stuff that was kind of the same thing but nothing to the level this was. I don’t know how many times we circled around and darted in and out of aisles, put stuff back and what not. I did meet one really nice guy that helped me find the corn starch. I had never bought it before and he not only found it for me but he climbed to get it because it was on the top shelf pushed back, and of course I am short
We quickly got through the self check out and we still needed to get sam’s litter so we decided to brave food lion – well it was a total different experience in there- they were a bit busier than the norm but it was not to the level of walmart by any means. We also went in HT to check on the water but they were of course out too- but it was calm in there too! If I had known I would have just went there and saved myself the trauma of walmart!
Like I say when we got home I called my grandma and then I shut the computer down, watched some tv and went to bed. I had a dream that they sent Jim Cantore from the weather channel here and i’m like no he best stay in florida! I was out in the rinky dink storm we had before it started last Friday taking pics and I Was like yup, channeling my inner Jim cantore lol
Today, I am not really sure what I am going to get into- maybe some reviews, I don’t know.. maybe my closet, maybe nothing. I am not sure just quite yet what the quarry has said about work next week and I am keeping my toes and fingers crossed that they might let David work tomorrow and Sunday and that way he wouldn’t loose days/vacation days. …
Right now i’m getting off of here for some lunch, put away some dishes and get things going! catch ya’ll in a bit for sure! I need to figure out dinner and send david a message that my mom had a case of water he can go pick up so.. thats good.
