Ever since David and I got married we do tend to stay to ourselves- I am not really sure as to why, that is just the way that we are. When I was going to college I had a few people that I interacted with, but I haven’t ever really been one to be all that social and have people to hang out with and all of that. I would much rather hang out with my mom or family members or whatever. I tend to do my socializing online. David has a friend from his childhood that he will ever rare moon hang out with for a little while but the guys girlfriend is a bit- I don’t know the right word
So yes, we do get jokes about being old boring married people and how we would rather stay at home than get out and all of that- we really never have cared about it, and in the long run I really don’t care but..every now and again I am like well maybe we should snap out of it and get out and about while we can!
One recent instance of this was on Valentines day this year. Now- this seems innocent enough at first- David offered to take me out to dinner. Of course I being all logical and not wanting to fight in traffic suggest this fish place right up from the house (even though I don’t eat fish – they have salad bar, chicken ,steak and all of that) We get there and it was actually semi-full for once ..and the longer we sat there the more I noticed that we were the youngest people in there (other than maybe some of the waitresses) by a huge gap! I think literally we are talking about we were the only people under 65. Oh and even better? We were out and back home by 630! We had a good joke about it and I was like oh my I have saw the future – we are already there!
It was around this time I became familiar with Cloud 9 Living, and I thought it would make a great article for the site, and a great chance to tell that story for sure!
Cloud 9 living is a different take on giving someone a gift(or yourself a little something)- it gives them (or you) a unique experience instead of an item. I know that people tend to not be able to buy me a gift that is even in the realm of anything that I want unless I am with them when they are picking it out (my mom and my grandma every now and again can do really good on their own though lol) I have actually resorted to asking for cash or a trip to the grocery store( see, I told you i’m old and simple lol) The thing is if I do get cash , I will not spend it on anything frivolous or for myself!
Cloud 9 Living offers ADVENTURE in 51 regions with a variety of experiences to choose from. There are cruises and city tours, learning to fly and more! In my region since I am in the Charlotte NC area there are a lot of race car driving experience and things of that nature- which works out really great since David has recently gotten back into watching racing ( he gave up football totally and went to racing which he hadn’t watched in over 10 years!) I am hoping to partner with Cloud 9 Living in the future to do one of these experiences! They also have one in our area for a land rover experience for 3 people at biltmore estate that caught my eye- that way we both could experience it and not just him!
An awesome thing about Cloud 9 living is- if you are choosing to get an experience for someone else you can give them a gift card towards the adventure! Also, when you give them one of these experiences you are also giving them memories as well, and I think that is a way better gift than a “thing” you might not want and return to the store!
