When I was a little girl we went to church ALL THE TIME of course my church was a little bit “different” than what your run of the mill church was- just google World Wide Church Of God and you’ll likely be able to find out a few things – some true, some not true and some are a little bit tongue in cheek (there is a pretty “funny” list of You know you grew up in the world wide church of god if” and there are several I can identify with) I laugh now because going to church on saturday was so “weird” to folks back then but you know Elevation Church , where I go now has a Saturday evening service and usually when I go- that is when we go!
Anyways there was a gal whose cousins and aunt/uncle went to our branch of the church and through them my parents and I got to know her and her family and we were fast friends and I know that when my mom was getting her hairstylist license and all of that- during the summer I used to spend the day with her- we went all kinds of neat places and always had tons of fun. She also spent the night with me a few times, and I know one time when my dads dad was in the hospital I remember they dropped me off at her house in the middle of the night- i can’t really remember the particulars there though on why they didn’t take me or anything- i’ll have to ask sometime
Also her mom helped me make a babydoll quilt for my babydoll crystal. Let’s put it this way – I don’t have a creative bone in me and I don’t learn crafty things easily and well.. I still have that blanket 🙂
Anyways we quit going to church when I was in about 10th grade- and well before that I had lost touch. A couple years back I started searching for random people on FB and I found her and I was SO excited. Her name is Sara and she still doesn’t live too far from me! We haven’t got to meet up in person yet – but hopefully eventually we will get to- she also blog over at Carolina Hobby Girl and I would love to get to talk to someone in real life about blogging because I haven’t got to do so.
Also something really crazy? We went to Appalachian at the same time- and I don’t think we ever crossed paths to our knowledge but if we were to have randomly passed each other or something I don’t think we would have recognized each other!
She was doing a cleanout of sorts and She had an Appalachian hoodie and was nice enough to send it to me, and I got it in the mail yesterday 🙂 I can’t wait to wear it and get to enjoy it- the one that I wear all the time could use a break- even though my mom got me one with Yosef on it last year and I still don’t think I have wore it lol
