I will be receiving 6 months of hosting from Execute Hosting in exchange for this post about their services. All opinions thoughts and ideas are honest and my own. your mileage may vary!
I have always been lucky enough to have a friend that helped me out with hosting my site- whether it was when I just was a sub-domain on their domain, or here in the last several years when I have had an actual domain or 2 (or 3 or 4.. 🙂 ) I have often thought of going on my own and have done lots of research but hadn’t found anything that I thought was an amazing deal especially when you have to factor in I don’t know a thing in the world about moving a site, and then I have multiple sites that not only I would likely have to pay for moving , but usually that jacks up the price. Oh, and most of the time the really awesome deals are the ones you have to pay for several months or years up front, and I just haven’t had the money for that.
I always tell people though, to invest in your site if you are serious about it. Go to blog conferences and meet ups, buy your own domain , and well I think it is also wise to get your own hosting too when the option presents itsself to you. I know that my site is hosted along with about 5 other peoples sites and that my site is personally a resource hog- which I won’t apologize for getting hits and things like that because it has taken years of work to get this far along- however when it comes down to my site and another site on the same hosting (the hostesses site) being a little more “popular” well there is bound to be problems.
I totally appreciate being hosted for free for several years by the lovely miss Jenn, but I know that the time has come where I need to break out and go on my own. We have been plagued with downtime and I hate having to bother her when it goes down- even though I don’t do it every time, and I have even reset the servers and stuff in the past because it was the better way to keep things up instead of bugging her! I know that downtime though leads to missed opps -paid posts, reviews (ugh I hate sending out a pitch and then the site going down) and sometimes it even leads to not so happy sponsors! Also, if I am exceptionally busy and in the mood to write I hate having to step back and not be able to do things- even though I can write in word or google docs- when it comes to review I much prefer writing in my dashboard!
Execute Hosting is a hosting company I hadn’t heard of in my realm of folks- but when they followed me on twitter the other day I decided to check them out and I am glad that I did. Execute Hosting offered me up 6 months of hosting in exchange for writing this post, and I think that even if they hadn’t I would have likely went with them anyways. They have been very friendly and have answered my million questions for me, and believe me I have had tons!
Here are some of the features /highlights of their services
24/7 Customer Support – I LOVE this- when the sites go down I can get in touch directly with them to get things going again! it’s their job to keep the site up 🙂 I will be the person who the service is registered to and I can things done 🙂
Free Website Migration– This might be the best of all- I don’t really know how the heck to transfer a site to another server- name servers i can change all day long though I could probably likely figure it out…. and I have friends that would likely help me make the switch but.. to have this included is great. I had talked with another hosting company and they wanted $150- per site- yeah I don’t quite have $300 and the money for hosting …also they do it in as little as 24 hours and you have NO DOWN TIME!
They Also Offer a Money Back Guarantee and Cancel at Anytime as well, which I know sometimes is def. not the case – a few other highlights include: unlimited bandwidth, unlimited domains, unlimited storage, cpanel (I used to NOT have cpanel access and it SUCKED) webmail and a ton of other hosting features- you can check out more about execute hosting features– believe me it is too much to mention here!
Price for all this hosting goodness:
So you might wander since they are so nice about the Website Migration and with all of the features- what are the prices for their hosting?
For the First Year you can get hosting for as little as $2.95 a month- you can do it monthly or you can do it for 3 months, 6 months or 12 after that it is only 8.95 a year, and I haven’t found that price for multiple domains anywhere else!
Even though I am nervous to go on my own after all these years (keep in mind i have been blogging since 1999 and always had some one host me- even if it was free sites back in the day) I am also excited and I can’t wait to see how it goes! I hope to update you all as to how it goes in the future! I can’t wait to see how Execute Hosting works out for me- i’m keeping my fingers n toes crossed 🙂
