So… You aren’t going to believe this BUT…
I had EYE DRAMA AGAIN!
This time it happened on Thursday night in the LEFT eye this time. I just laid here half the night in pain and scared and I never woke David up because I didn’t want to worry him- and I kept thinking I was just crazy and that if I could go to sleep everything would be o.k and I didn’t think it was going to be anything come the next morning….
I actually wasn’t even going to mention it to him , but when he was about to leave I started to have a panic attack about it. I told him to just go ahead to work and that I would call and that if I needed him i’d let him know. We knew that my mom could take me and honestly there isn’t anything that he could do, so it wasn’t really worth him loosing time at work over.
I had a feeling that it was pretty much the same thing that had happened a few weeks ago to the right eye- but maybe in a more concentrated part of my eye… I almost put some of that anti biotic ointment in about 3 or so time in the middle of the night!
This was about 6 in the morning and when I called the emergency number they said since they would be open at 8 did I think I could just come in then, and I was like yeah that would be fine.. so for the next hour and a half or so I just went on adrenaline to keep my mind off of stuff- my mom came to get me around 745 and the eye dr is just right here from my house so..
I was right though. It was the EXACT SAME THING- Eye Abrasion! of all crazy things- both eyes in a 3 weeks time right? IT was more concentrated too- it was more to the left side of the left eye- *sigh*
Basically, at this point they think that my corneas are a little bit thinner than what would be conisdered “normal” and the reason this happens in the middle of the night with the horrible pain has to do with dryness and the pressure that you have when your eyes are closed/sleeping- basically it ends up eating away that thin layer of cornea and causing the hell fire pain of having an eye abrasion! what fun right?!!
Right now they seem to think that I can treat it by using an ointment that is sodium chloride (NA CL 5%) I actually got some of it by Bausch & Laumb called Muro 128- They want me to pretty much use this in both eyes at night every night .. FOREVER.. . This is a ointment similar to the antibiotic one that I am using ..and they think that this will help keep things “smoothe” and prevent us from having to go through this hell again!
IF by chance this happens again .. and KEEPS HAPPENING GOD FORBID… then i’d have to see a specialist and then there was something about resurfacing my eyes with a laser and I’m just NOT FEELING THAT FOR SURE!
Let me tell you the initial day of this happening is the LEGIT DAY FROM HELL but I’ve went thru it twice and you do know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel so to speak! The crazies thing is BOTH times I had a fuzzy eye prior to this happening but we don’t actually think it was related- so now though, any time i get a fuzzy eye you know i’m gonna be freaking out! So yes, it is a crap day a boring day, a painful day … but IF i had to go through it every rare moon VS having that kind of surgery.. I have to say I’d probably be inclined to pick the day of hell .. but thats where I’m at right now ..
Luckily I do have quite a bit of the anti biotic cream so IF it were to start on me again I could be several doses ahead on the healing process VS waiting till morning to get to a DR… and in general even spending that money to go to the dr because all they do is give you a numbing drop that doesn’t even last very long for me and one dab of ointment and send you on your way at this point you know?
One that that super sucks is I do kind of have a panic about bed- like am I going to wake up having this happen again .. because its like the NOT KNOWING thing.. I haven’t used the ointment in both eyes yet- I just actually got it and then i’m only 3 days in on the left eye with the anti biotics.
As far as how is it feeling? super weak! Fuzzy without my glasses but.. vs the pain? I’m good! The crazy thing too? I had a sinus headache right around that eye for over a week including the day of the eye emergency so they were both killing me- I finally faught that thing off with my pur mist and some advil but it is trying to come back so i’m gonna have to work on that today!
