Hey Everyone! You know what moving down here near my parents has done for me, other than made me really happy and closer to them and Davids work? It has really made me nostalgic for the good ole days! Then moving into these apartments totally has reminded me of going to Appalachian State!
These apartments are more like an apartment complex because we have a pool and amenities and lots of people around. They even sorta look like my apartments that I stayed in when I was in boone on the outside! Of course on the inside they are like OMG HOLY STARS WOW lol. I will be taking some awesome pics of the place and getting them up here soonest (today or at least this weekend)
So Anyways, while I am out on one of my nostalgic I miss Appalachian state moods I thought it would be a great time to bring up the awesome folks at Campus Book Rentals. Many of you might not know but I started out going to community college and then went to appalachian and then went back to community college so I def. have some experience when it comes to the”book experience” for sure. When I first started out I remember spending oodles of money on books that well lets be honest, a lot of times they were never used or def. not used enough to constitute such and expensive price.
I went several semesters of doing this and always thought that there had to be a better way, which there was, RENTING but it was just coming on to the scene back then. I know that there are people that still don’t know about renting your books and I think it is REALLY Sad because it is SO EASY and it can save you TONS of money that you could use for things like your tuition or even food or off campus housing.
I was lucky when I went to appalachian because all the REQUIRED books (not supplemental) were included for you to rent for $35 a semester. It didn’t mater if it was 4 books or 10 you just went up to the bookstore with your schedule they handed you your books and you went on the way! I know that Appalachian is one of the few schools that do this from the get go, so if you aren’t so lucky you can rent your books from somewhere online like Campus Book Rentals
Renting Textbooks from Campus Book Rentals is an awesome idea for many reasons including:
-save 40-90% off of bookstore prices
-free shipping both ways
-can highlight in the textbooks
-flexible renting periods
-we donate to Operation Smile with each textbook rented
Operation Smile is a totally awesome organization which helps children who are born with a cleft lift/palate! They work in over 60 countries as well. Children who are born in some of these countries are even shunned and rejected 🙁 They most of the time cannot eat or speak socialize or smile. I always love companies who I would be using anyways who donate something awesome back at the same time. It not only helps me but it helps others and that is a great feeling!
Campus Book Rentals also has an awesome new service called Rent Back. You know all those books you have bought over the years before you found out about renting? The ones that when you go to sell them back at the end of the semester you walk out of the buy back like seriously they gave me how much for this book I paid a ton for? Or even better they tell you they don’t know if the course will be available the next semester (I had this happen and it was a basic science class lol) OR those books that they are going to change the next semester and you walk out with NOTHING? Well, don’t fret because you can now RENT YOUR OWN BOOKS to others! To find out more info check out this video
I know that if I am ever in the position to go back to school I will def. be using Campus Book rentals and I plan to make sure that even My cousins know about this option when they go to college (I have one getting ready to go soon..where has time gone?) Any way to save money, is in my book worth a go, especially when it comes to renting the books instead of buying them!
