I wrote this last week when David went back to work, but had hesitated to actually put it up due to the fact I *gasp* mentioned that his paycheck was super short- the last time I did that I got trolled like mad but.. it is just a reality so.. and it is my blog and I pay for it so.. I can post what I want!. If you don’t like me or what I say you don’t have to stick around! 😉
Hey Everyone
PHEW …. This week Ya’ll. Honestly, I could say that about the last almost 2 years at this point I’m telling you! David had an adventure with COVID- Let’s just say he didn’t feel well and went to urgent care- They gave him a test and he was already going to be off Thursday & Friday of last week for bereavement pay, so .. We didn’t think that he actually had COVID or anything, but since they did the test he had to stay out until he got a negative test, and with already having those days as scheduled off he was only looking at missing one day of work and we figured he’d be back to work on Monday
WRONG
We didn’t get the test back on Friday like we had originally thought, but we figured with it being done through urgent care we still had a chance to get those results and get him back to work on Monday. When he called Sunday though, the girl actually said she’d call back, because for some reason she couldn’t seem to find anything about the test in David’s file… She was actually the only girl there we have dealt with that was ANY sort of nice or helpful too, just while i’m on it…
So we had been to the grocery store and were headed over to my mom and dads. I figured honestly, that they wouldn’t call back and David had already scheduled a rapid test a few towns away for Monday, because we were figuring that there was gonna be a delay well before we got the next information… They actually called right as we were pulling into my mom and dads driveway
Keep in mind , this was 5 days after the original test.. Well, they found out that the test got broke IN TRANSIT and was never tested! So.. It was a good thing he had scheduled the rapid test right?
Well… When he went to do the rapid test on Monday it came back as POSITIVE and we were like OMG what in the world are we going to do, basically because we didn’t actually think that he had it at any point- we really had thought it was a very mild cold or even allergies- because I had it a couple days as well.and here we had went over to my mom and dads and we were feeling bad for exposing them you know?
On his way back home he went to urgent care and got a re-test of the non-rapid test and they had told him since what happened the last time they would rush the results or whatever and we were like OK.. and then we were scrambling to try to figure out about getting his check in order – because it will be our “rent check” and we didn’t need it to be super short you know?
They basically put in the entire time, except for Tuesday when he left early in as an emergency pay and then tuesday will come under vacation day pay. Then, it kicked out his bereavement pay – so he can take that later on I suppose! Anyways , we got it covered and it was gonna be extra special a short check, which sucks but it is what it is – it happens like that sometimes.- Considering anything over 80 hours on the check is over time- and their checks tend to be around 115 hours or more depending.. The emergency pay basically only covers an 8 hour day and they pretty much almost work a 12 hour day + saturdays as a half day sometimes. It just goes to show you how much overtime can really make a difference for sure!
Then Tuesday night around 11 David just randomly checked online to see if the test results were back, and they were and it said negative! We were so excited and in all honesty he probably could have went back to work yesterday but since it was so late, and we hadn’t actually gotten a call or paperwork he decided he would be better off to try to go back as of today (thursday)
When he called to actually get the results the urgent care people got a total attitude with him and he had to get one back- They were basically too lazy to look it up and were trying to make him wait on the lab to call (which still never has happened btw) but thankfully, he got a negative test and got all of his paperwork and he won’t be missing as much work as we had thought! He will even get to work Saturday, so it will be super helpful
I am just super glad that IF we didn’t have a false positive that it was as mild as it was and that people like my parents didn’t end up with it after the fact! It would have been SUPER crazy if it hadn’t been a false positive though because how in the heck would he have gotten it- we never go anywhere hardly ever, and I go out even less than that! Oh, and within an hour it went from POSITIVE to an Negative result too!
Well, I’m out.. Just wanted to document the little adventure/scare that we had!
