I love when I get an unique opportunity to work on something. I have to say, sometimes being a blogger has it’s perks! 🙂 I know that many of you have saw bloggers writing about “The Bounce Back” movie campaign with Shemar Moore and I am happy to say that I am a part of these bloggers! This post is not sponsored and I have received no compensation whatsoever for it.
First of all let me say I am happy to be a part of this campaign and the Entertainment New Media Network, because it truly shows the power that bloggers can have when working on a project, whether or not it be a group project or not. I know that a lot of people think just because I sit at home and click clack on a keyboard most of the day, they don’t see really what it is that I DO and they don’t see the worth in it. Like I say this project is not making me any money, but to me getting the word out that bloggers are important and bloggers can help is worth more than money to me! It opens the doors for so many other great opportunities.
The Bounce Back movie is a movie that Shemar Moore (you might know him from Criminal Minds, I know him as that hot guy from Y&R..and I never watched Y&R LOL)is working to get funded by crowd-sourcing and not by a big Hollywood production company! So far it is the #4Â crowd-sourced movie of all time. This is how it breaks down:
As of June 29 2013
1. Veronica Mars Film – Kickstarter – $5.7M – campaign ended 91,585 funders
2. Wish I Were Here – Zach Braff – Kickstarter $3.1 M – campaign ended – 46,520 funders
3. Road Hard – Adam Corrolla – FundAnything $837,5K (campaign still running) – 8,571 funders
4. The Bounce Back Film – Indiegogo – $601.6K (campaign still running) – 3037 funders
The original goal for this movie was 500,000 but we have now moved into a bonus round, to help with the distribution of the movie.
What is the Bounce Back movie about? (This part is from Shemar Moore himself)
“The Bounce Back” is a heartfelt romantic comedy about finding the courage to love after love has let you down.
When I read “The Bounce Back” – that very same issue was at the core of the script and the character, Matthew Taylor. I saw a lot of myself in Matthew, although I’ve never written a book (but I’m thinking about it now, hint, hint). I felt a kindred spirit to what Matthew was going through and my own life. Matthew loses his wife, his first love and after a short recovery creates a best-selling book and a system of survival in order to shield himself from the pain.  He throws himself into a year-long speaking tour.
That system of survival; his book and speaking tour, keeps him from falling in love again when he meets the perfect girl, the beautiful and zany Kristin Moreland. Matthew realizes that he has to renounce his book and the world he has created around it in order to take the big unknown plunge of letting himself fall in love again.
I think there is a wonderful poetry to that, the idea of risking it all for love. And I feel, in my heart, that is why we’re here on this planet. To love. After I put down the screenplay, “The Bounce Back,” I knew I had to make this movie simply because I believe in love all the way down to the fabric of my being.
You can find out more information about The Bounce Back at various places online including The Bounce Back Film website, The indiegogo website where you can contribute of course(oh, and there are options for every budget, and you get a PERK as well!) and of course Twitter & Facebook
I look forward to bringing future updates from this campaign to you, as well as other awesome ones in the future!
