I am not a big fan of April Fools Day. It isn’t that I don’t like a good joke or whatever, it is just a day I find pointless! When I was a child there might be a little small something as a joke, but it wasn’t a huge deal, but for some reason it seems like since I have gotten older it has really “blew up” and became a big thing. I think it might just be part of the reason that I don’t care about it- is because literally it wasn’t a big deal in my childhood!
I don’t play jokes on people, and I don’t fall for all of the stupid emails that come in with really weird sounding subjects either. The last time I actually believed a April fools joke was when A local friend of mine posted one a few years back about how they were going to drain the lake- I can’t remember exactly all the details and I tried to find a link to share but it looks like that they don’t work anymore.
The only reason I think that this one “got” me so to speak is I have always been fascinated with the lake because it is man made and I have always been curious about this area before the lake was here back in the 50’s or 60’s when it was created. I know there were lots of things that ended up under the lake and I actually just found an article about that sort of thing a few months back. My family isn’t from around here and David’s family didn’t really live in this area either.. so it is just one of those random things that fascinate me!
I know something really neat that is related is back down where I used to live as a child- when they blew the bridge up that used to go across the lake -it didn’t blow up and it is still under the lake in one piece!
