Hey Everyone
(this is long post. and I put the picture at the end lol)
Well I had plans for yesterday evening that didn’t involve what ended up happening to say the least. I actually was going to give David my debit card so he could go to walmart and grab some stuff for his lunch this week and maybe send him over to my moms to grab her mail and take it in. My original plans were curling up in bed for the evening and watching the election results.
I ended up going with him to walmart and we grabbed food from jersey mikes to bring home and decided to not go over to my moms (I had hoped they might come home today so I figured I’d get the mail today if they don’t come home) Anyways I was eating and david had finished eating and was taking a shower. I was in here in the bedroom and watching tv and wasn’t really paying attention to a whole heck of a lot other than tv and whatnot.
I thought I heard some shouting and then this horrible bam bam bam that wasn’t shots – you could tell someone had got hit – and then more yelling I ran in the living room to look out and I saw this white truck FLOORING it out of here – I was like WHOA what the heck? I kind of thought that the guy that lives below us was the one that did it because it was a white truck so anyways I ran in here and screamed to david that something was going on and I needed to check the car. Keep in mind with this damn time change it was already dark at around 645 so I couldn’t see a thing
I go down the steps cursing the entire way and ran into two guys and walk over to my car and it was SMASHED and i was freaking out of course! I ran back up here screaming for David to get out there and he runs out in his sweatpants with NO shirt on showing his tattoo (he has a really not so nice tattoo from his younger days) and i’m trying to find my phone and get 911 on the line.
The county cop got out here about the time i got off the phone with them because he was just out the road at the auto part store. I went back out and everyone was out there like OMG your car and then this one other guy had got hit – the one with the white truck- he was actually in it when he got hit (by the other white truck that left) while he was trying to park basically and they tore the door of his work truck up.
They had at one point thought they found who hit us and everything and took the witness guy up to harris teeter to see if it was them and then it turned out it wasn’t and then that cop never came back
for some reason the state trooper won’t come out- he calls and tells us unless these local guys can find who did it he won’t come out and they can’t do anything about it which i thought was totally weird and whatever but anyways
Finally we come in a little after 8:00 and started to watch tv and barley got settled in and David saw the local cop back out there so we went out and he was really shocked that the state trooper hadn’t came out and he was like wait what?
He made some calls and waited with us and talked to us about things – he said he would even file out a property report on it but it wouldn’t really help. We are talking about my back door, my front door and the fender. likely more than 5,000 in damages and he was baffled they didn’t come out. ..but he got confirmation that they wouldn’t and he said that he would suggest we even call and ask to talk to a supervisor all of this because he had never heard of them not coming out especially when the other guy was in his vehicle when things happened!
He actually suggests we call and talk to the state troopers unit about everything and talk to a supervisor because this was not some fender bender thing and that we are going to have to cover all this as far As deductables and whatnot otherwise –
Yes our deductible is only $250 so it isn’t horrible. Yes, I am happy NO ONE WAS HURT for SURE! It just sucks that it happened – it is just crazy and hard to process and we have for all these years had old cars and even parked on the street when we lived in town and here we get a brand new car not even 5 months ago and this happens! Oh and David is one of those OCD people who details their car 3 times a week and everything you know?
Oh and here is a picture. David has others and it was dark but this is the biggest gash right on the front passenger door- it also go the front fender, the back door and the mirror
