My mom was a cosmetologist ever since I was in about 1st grade right up through spring of 2006. She had several problems with her feet, but she had surgeries and stuff like that, but then one day in the spring of 2006 she had a glass shelf fall on her foot at work…
they were setting up a new store, and she was helping put up the product shelves and such.. well she had to go to urgent care and after that she couldn’t really work anymore because it was so bad.
She had to try to get the disability benefits for a couple times, and even get a lawyer to help, and eventually she did get a settlement in 2007.
I know that there are lots of people out there who try to play the system and get these things even though they may not qualify and sometimes actually end up getting them! I just think it’s really sad for those who do need it and can’t get them because of those sorts of people!
