In the past years David and I have always agreed that we did in fact want to have children, we just haven’t gotten lucky just yet. We also haven’t really done a whole heck of a lot in ways of finding out why we haven’t had it happen to us. As far as I know even though I had hpv and the beginning stages of cervical cancer when we first got together, and had several procedures and 2 surgeries I got a clean bill of health afterwards.
As you know I have been working with Stork OTC the past few months as a brand ambassador. In case you haven’t caught my other posts, here is a little bit more information The Stork OTC is a uniquely designed innovative device you use at home, during ovulation, to assist your chances of becoming pregnant. Our FDA–cleared, over-the-counter device uses cervical cap insemination.
I like the concept of the Stork OTC device for several reasons- it isn’t invasive, you use it at home, it is low cost in comparison with other methods out there. You simply go to your local walgreens or CVS and buy it right there in the store , take it home and it is pretty well business as usual from there with just a couple of added steps- but still right there at home with just you and your significant other!
So- like I was saying before- for some reason the magic of having a baby just hasn’t happened and we aren’t really sure why. I have actually even took an over the counter test at one point similar to a pregnancy test that helps you figure out if you can become pregnant and it came back very much positive. I also am pretty sure many many moons ago that I had a miscarriage, before I was married so that leads me to believe we might either might just not have had the right timing, or maybe we are having some sort of issue with male fertility.
I didn’t really realize that male infertility makes up 30-40% of issues that couples have when it comes to conceiving! I don’t know that I thought it might be half and half or that it would be a lot lower- to the point that it would be non existent! There are so many reasons that guys can be responsible for the problem including low motility and low sperm count to just name a few. There are things that can also be done that help these various things as well like simple lifestyle changes. Stork OTC also has a Male Fertility Quiz you can take as well!

I have not had luck with getting my cycle on track ever since I got into the stork otc program unfortunately so I haven’t got to try the device. For some reason after many years of my cycle being fairly short and fairly stable and predictable it has went into some kind of tailspin but I am looking forward to trying it in the future and possibly writing more about my experiences and results when the time comes. I am VERY encouraged that this might be the step that we need -just have to get to the point where we can use it!
You should most def. check out the twitter party on November 29 at 8 p.m EST and follow along using the #becomingadad hashtag for more information and of course awesome prizes including visa gift cards, ovulation tests and stork OTC devices!
