With COVID this year has been super TRASH for SO Many people- including us- David’s grandpa actually DIED from COVID a few weeks back and it seems to be working its way through the people who are working at the quarry as well – They have 2 or 3 people out with it as of today!
It has amazed me though, that at least this has happened in a time of really good technology on so many levels. I mean can you even imagine if this had happened as far back as like the 90’s (or earlier- I am just going with when I was a child!) I mean we didn’t have phones ,internet (I think I can remember a very basic internet around 1994 because I was in 4th grade and we could email with my teachers daughter-I was one of the ones that actually got to do that- oh and accelerated reader- we dialed that up and I was super active with that) The first cell phones that I think we even had were when I was in high school, I know that much!
I know you all might know I am a huge little house fan- heck the thing used to be watch out Nichole is watching little house with her bonnet on ha ha. I really do have a bonnet – and that used to be like a thing to say because it was when I was being really serious! There were even a few episodes on there that deal with plagues and quarantines – and of course there was no technology then.. and it was even more of a remote sort of thing. There wasn’t things like online schools or video inspections even remotely on the radar! Can you even imagine?
One good thing about this year is that back at the end of August- I FINALLY GOT A NEW PHONE!! I was so excited you can’t even imagine! I got the Note 20 the day it came out believe it or not! My s9 had gotten to wear it didn’t like to hold any sort of charge at all, and it wasn’t even quite 2 years old yet! I don’t know what that was about .. I hate picking out phones though!
The funniest thing is that I had the darn thing for almost a week before I realized it doesn’t have a headphone port! I had originally used David’s headphones the night I got it – and they are wireless ones so I didn’t have any reason to know anything about it until randomly I went to plug them up and BAM I was shocked. David thought it was because my phone case was a random cheap thing I picked out on amazon, but nope – go figure
I need to look into getting a different case probably sometime soon, and maybe even something from Rhinobrand as well
I haven’t actually been out to the quarry in a while and I am kind of missing some people out there- I pretty much know everyone out there since my dad has worked there almost 33 years! (and David for 12) Sometimes I go out there and hang out with the office gals- especially Gina – I like to try to learn some of the office skills because that has been always something that I am interested in! I l have learned different sorts of softwares and such, and I think that they might need to check into something like BasicSafe
