So we have another blog related theme with the Tuesday 10 This week, which will make for some awesome roundup posts on the BE blog at some point later on! Poor BE blog , it is always sometime later on lol. Anyways, our topic this week is related to Plugins for your blog! I don’t know that I can come up with 10 That I really recommend, but I really do look forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with so I can find some that I probably should already be using.
1. Wordfence. This is a blog post in the making for a while for the BE blog that I Have worked on , on and off! It is like electric fence for your blog and it keeps all your haters crazies(trolls) and whoever else you don’t want up on your site, off of it! I have taken advantage of it’s amazing capabilities for a while now, and I highly recommend it!
2.Add Signature: You are going to laugh at me but I can’t remember if this is the one that I use for the Nichole at the bottom of all my posts or if it is the one that does the bio/picture at the end of each of my posts. Though , I am pretty sure it is the one that adds my Signature! I can’t remember how the heck I have that bio showing up (plugin? part of my theme? need to figure that out lol)
3. Jetpack. Oh jetpack. it does lots of nifty things.Don’t get hung up on the stats it gives you though because they will always be really low, even lower than google for the most part. (if google is a thing for you..which you know for me it isn’t!) You can get pics in your sidebar easily and connect your posts to go through G+ and FB and twitter. I can’t name everything!
4.Counterize : I like tracking my stats with this .. No It isn’t google but it does match some other third party sites that I have tracked stats on before pretty well.. If you are hard core google is the be all and end all then it isn’t for you!
5.Comment Love: Nifty plugin that when you have it installed you can let people link to a recent post that they have written at the bottom of their comment
6.Maintenance Mode I don’t even know if you can actually download this anymore because I have tried to use it on GR ,and BE with no luck on finding it. I have had to just re-upload the one that I had to my dashboard. It is the easiest way to put your site into Maintenance Mode though that way you can twerk with stuff and not have folks going omg wtf lol.
7. NOFollowr is the easiest way to make links no follow when you need to. You just click the check mark or the X!
Well that is all I really came up with, so I am interested in what everyone else comes up with for sure. I know that I have heard it is bad to have lots of plugins on your site but I know that I am probably missing several essentials that I should have too!
