I recently had the chance to review a wall decal from Accent Studios, and I was really excited, because I have always wanted one! There were so many to choose from!I thought that it would make a nice addition to our living room, especially in the little area where my wedding picture & family picture collages are!
I underestimated how much space I had in that area though, lol. Also, With the way that we are uncertain about david’s job and the possibility of having to move (you can’t ever be too sure!) I didn’t want to do it as a permanent addition to the walls (Plus, i’m sure in the long run my rent lady will appreciate that if we ever had to move) For me, I just didn’t want to loose the decal!
I picked out this monogram decal. Originally I had even thought about getting one with my mom & dad’s name and year on it, because everytime I mentioned a decal to david he just blankly stared at me. Finally, he paid attention and was like ooh that’s kinda cool lol.
As you can tell from the pic, I did put Karen on it, because that’s what my family/david refer to me as (actual first name..which i’m sure most of you know by now!) If I thought it would have fit I would have probably done David & Karen-Nichole but..yeah.. no biggie! I picked basic black, because I thought it would be the best with white. Other than pink/white, black & white is my favorite color combo! I picked the standard 28×15 size as well.
I was impressed with the way that it shipped in a little tube, and came REALLY fast with standard delivery ..I am sure I ordered it on a friday afternoon and it was here on monday or tuesday! It didn’t come with any real instructions on how to apply it, just had a link to a video..which was cool.. but hey, how if you don’t have fast internet or a computer with a decent processor? I mean, like I say not an issue for me.. but it could be for some people. I guess alot of people could be smart enough to wing it though, which is what I did.
I decided the best way to make use of it, and not have to do it as a permanent on my wall thing, was to either put it on foam board/ poster board.
I have to say it went well, and I honestly wouldn’t see that it would be any different than applying it directly to a wall. I simply measured to make sure of the fit, unrolled the decal and using the scrapper applied it to the foam board! I think if it took 10 minutes to get done, that would have been the most! It really reminded me of contact paper in a way!
It did get a slight wrinkle in it, but ..those be the breaks! I am not the most hand/eye coordinated person..so i kinda saw that one coming lol. It doesn’t bother me in the least. The way that I am i’m lucky I didn’t make a total mess of it!
I am very happy with my finished product, that can go with me anywhere we happen to have to go!
I received this product in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions stated are honest and my own.
