Now, as many times as I have told you what are my favorite kinds of snacks? If you said Salty, Spicy and/or tangy you are right 🙂 I am still trying to dispel these rumors that I am a picky eater ha ha. I don’t mind sweet stuff but like I say they aren’t what you would be likely to find in the pantry at my house!
So when I got the chance to review a combination of salty and spicy PLUS it had a few sweet goodies as well – well I had to say yes of course! Now what in the world could cover all of these at one foul swoop you might ask? That would be Naked Infusions Salsa (and chips!) So now I have to make two puns before I can go on with the review though- First of all this one is ALL THAT AND A BAG OF CHIPS. Oh, and how AWESOMESAUCE! Those are two things I say all of the time — and this time it is relevant as can be for the review 🙂
Naked Infusions Salsa is a company that is first of all founded by a woman, which I def. find to be totally awesome! Not only that but they have won awards for their salsa! I like that their salsa is made from all natural ingredients that are organic, fresh and from local california farms as well. I know that my mom makes her own salsa and I do prefer it over store bought salsa, and she even makes one that we make fun of and tell her it tastes like chilli (really it is awesome- you just add hamburger and you have chilli!)
She makes it out of things that she grows right in the garden, and I just really like when things are natural and have fresh ingredients so I knew that these would be something that I would enjoy! I have even made regular fresh salsa myself in the past- until I got to where the last time I made the cilantro made me want to throw up 🙁 I know I could leave it out but – yeah lol.
To bring you this review in a timely matter- I am just writing up a little bit of details/ my thoughts on the ones I have tried , and a few generalizations on those I have not tried yet- because I didn’t really think I wanted to open 8 jars of salsa at one time- which I am sure you can understand! I have tried the Signature ripe tomato mild, so I can kind of not only get you an opinion on it- but likely an opinion the medium and hot versions. I have also tried the fire roasted garlic. I also won’t eat the blue cheese one- I sent it off with my mom for my dad to try- he’s the only one we could think of that would it 🙂 So as I get through more jars of salsa I will update this post and bring you more information!
As with most things when I get a whole bundle of things I just write up each item in a paragraph or so – and this will be no exception! It just keeps things clear, and helps break them down better I have found!
Naked Infusions White Corn Tortilla Chips: We ran out of these with the first jar of salsa if that tells you how good they paired up with the salsa! They are gluten free and even kosher (which at one point in my life was a very important thing because the church I went to was kinda on the kosher and jewish food laws even though we weren’t jewish) They are really thin-which i really like- and lightly salted. I am a salt feign but these are pretty much right!
Signature Ripe Tomato Mild– This would be what you would call your standard regular run of the mill salsa- except it isn’t! It has a very tomato taste- and I am a huge tomato freak and am really picky about the ones I eat even in general- I really liked it and couldn’t get enough of it. Unfortunately David was off of work for 9 days and I hadn’t been to the store- so this was one of his go to snacks. I have to say it had a bit more of a kick than that of any other mild salsa I have had but I wouldn’t quite take it to a medium level. I think I would really like to make my salsa chicken recipe I have with this because I have always said something just isn’t right when I make it and i think this might be what I am looking for!
Fire Roasted Garlic– I have to say I AM IN LOVE. It reminds me of some spicy garlic pizza sauce or something! I don’t think it is David’s favorite but he did eat a pretty good bit of it, and I know how much my dad loves garlic so if it makes until I go back over to my parents house I am going to take it to him and let him try it. I literally had to put down the jar and walk away because it was just- omg- now my mouth is watering again.. sheesh. the perils of writing food reviews right before dinner right?
Oaxaca White Chocolate– O.K. I admit the thought of SWEET and Salsa kind of has mixed reception in my head but I do really like white chocolate so I am thinking mixing this with the saltiness of some chips would be pretty alright- likely when we try our next jar it will be this one. It intriques me for sure
Signature Ripe Tomato Medium: looking forward to a tiny bit more spice and all the yum from the mild when I get to try this one- especially since the first jar is gone with the wind at this point!
Signature Ripe Tomato Extra Hot– looking forward to this one- and hoping it isn’t too hot for me! which most people will tell you I can eat fire so- shouldn’t be a problem!
California Burnt Sage- I will likely be the only one that likes this one because I don’t think my mom or david likes sage- my dad maybe. I don’t know that I know exactly what sage tastes like so I am also really excited about this one. when I opened the garlic – it was a toss up trying to decide!
Rustic Blue Cheese– Just as soon as my dad tries it I will get back with an description. I just don’t do cheese and even David and mom who do cheese won’t do blue cheese so.. 🙂 Stay tuned!
Black Silk Espresso- This one David is just itching to open so I still really don’t know which will be next. He really like Espresso flavored things so I figure this one will def. float his boat- again i’ll let you know 🙂
Even though I haven’t tried all the flavors yet- the couple I have tried make me really excited to try the other flavors of Naked Infusions Salsa! I know they will be awesome – and you can even cook with the salsas too of course- they sent me tons of recipe cards and you can find out more on their site! I will def. be spoiled now when it comes to salsa and chips! Oh, and you know everyone already claims I am such a picky eater! *sigh* be sure to check back for the updates as we go along!
