It isn’t a big secret that I am always doing SOMETHING to my hair. I am kind of cursed with troll hair … really thick and curly troll hair. I always have said that and then when I got my belly button ring I started adding “and I have the jewel in my belly button too” 🙂
Also my mom is a hairstylist by trade, and that woman was always constantly doing something to my hair growing up! Oh and just throwing it out there it wasn’t always pretty -and there are pictures ,and NO YOU CAN’T SEE THEM lol. Although at one point I had hair so long as a child I could sit on it!
I have been coloring my hair pretty much since I was in the 9th grade constantly. I don’t think I have been my original hair color since.. um.. one brief period several years ago because of a coloring snafu! I generally go dark in the winter and do blonde in the summer and sometimes in between you’ll find me with red /strawberry blonde or something of those sorts. I have such a problem with grey roots though, I pretty much have to stick with trying to do the lighter colors.
So- When I saw the chance to review some hair color I was like Oh NICE send it on over to me, and that is exactly what the folks from bigen usa did! They sent me some Bigen Vivid Shades and some lightening powder and developer too!My hair desperately needed colored so Friday I went over to my moms and we had decided to go ahead and use the lightening powder and developer vs using color to start with. My mom has a hood dryer and it was on the fritz but luckily my dad was there and corrected the problem so we go to continue onward as planned!
When I was younger I used to “come up” with color in a matter of minutes no matter if I was under the dryer or not, but since I got older I seemingly take forever.. This was NOT the case this go around.. I was up in about 7 minutes! I was really impressed and so was my mom- and that is saying a lot because she is pretty picky about these sorts of things obviously!
Now as far as the vivid shades they come in all kindsa what I would call “Crazy Colors” for the most part like the pink, purple and turquoise ones for sure. I had never used these sorts of colors before even though I have had snafus before with color and ended up some crazy shades 🙂 I was all for it but I knew that my mom and probably david would be a bit skeptical. I explained though that they are only semi permanent and they will wash out in 6-8 washes or so!
I am sure you already know what color I chose to put a small streak in my hair right? PINK Of course! Now when it was wet and at first when you squeeze it out of the bottle it had a bit of “red” to it but now that I have dried and straightened my hair it is just a VERY vivid pink and I really like it
I had some other pics from last night that I liked and was gonna use as another collage but I had told David to take a pic of me and when he did he thought I didn’t want the others so he deleted them! BOO!
David says that he likes it just fine and that I must be trying to channel my inner Aria from Pretty little liars because she used to have that pink streak lol. I wouldn’t mind streaking it through the rest of my hair too, but I am going to my grandmas for thanksgiving and I don’t think she would like for me to do that lol. I don’t know I told her I was going to do a streak of pink and she said well that might not be too bad lol.
I am looking forward to trying out the other various colors that I received in the future as well, but we know me I will stick with pink as much and as long as that bottle lasts 🙂 I actually considered doing purple because it seems like purple has haunted me all year but we know how loyal to pink I am. If you want to punch up your color a bit I suggest you check out bigen vivid shades!
