I have wore glasses since I was in the 6th grade- they were these god awful purple and teal ones and I had them tinted in some funky color too! I can’t even remember but I know that picked them out but I probably could have used some better guidance, for sure lol. The pair after those wasn’t much better 🙂  I won’t tell you how long I have had my current glasses but I love them, and I think even if I ever get a new prescription I will use the same ones.
I am also bad about wearing my glasses to boot- I am only required to wear them when driving- I have the restriction on my license and everything. I do try every time I renew my license to do the little test without them just to see if I can luck out! I really need to wear them in general but I can’t ever seem to get in the habit! My right eye is so bad, that the last time I did make glasses they had to keep them longer to make the lens even because it was so much thicker than the left.
As you know I spend pretty much 24/7 online working on the blog, playing on facebook and even watching all those Another World eps on youtube 🙂 I def. run into times where I am thinking “am I straining my eyes a bit too much?” but my regular glasses don’t really do anything to counteract that kind of thing.
I was wondering if there were any other options out there but I never looked into it… and then I got offered a review of Gunnar Sheadog Computer Glasses from my friends over at readers.com . At first I wasn’t really sure if they were for me, and around this time David had been looking at some kind of gaming site and he started talking about the exact same glasses and I was like I can get those if you want to try them and you help me with the review!
In case you don’t know Computer Glasses help with eyestrain, which includes the headaches and blurred vision that can occur from viewing bright screens all day long like your computer, tablet and phone. It has to do with the blue light that is emitted from the screens!
As you well know I am pretty much always on the computer working on something blogging related or social media related, and David is always sitting on his phone doing whatever it is that he does lol (I don’t know browsing the web/playing games, etc) I also didn’t realize that the blue light is what the problem is so that was a fun fact I learned with doing this review- got to love when you are reviewing and learning all at the same time!
The Gunnar computer glasses block out up to 65% of the UV blue light that causes all that eyestrain evilness and its side effects. Â Also these glasses have amber lenses which enhances contrast which was something that both David and myself experienced when we were wearing them. It makes all the colors a bit more spectacular if you ask me and of course more easy on your eyes! They also have anti reflective coatings that help with glare as well!
As far as the styling of the glasses it works well for either a guy or a girl in my opinion so that is always a practical thing. I like that David and I both can grab and use them if we feel the need and that He doesn’t look girly in them and I don’t feel like I look guyish in them 🙂 I do have a really small face but they still worked out.
They fit well, and I don’t feel like they are going to fall off, and they aren’t heavy at all either, which are always good things when it comes to glasses.
Keep in mind David was supposed to help me with writing this review and I got them mostly for him but he backed out on me! So with the way my eyes are so finicky to begin with, it has been a little more fun to try to write 🙂 One thing we both noticed is that they are supposed to be non magnified but for some reason the both of us tend to think that they have a little bit of magnification to them – it seems like when I am writing blog posts I can put them on and sit further back from the computer screen than normal, but I am not sure why that is!
I think that these are nice pair of glasses and that computer glasses def. have a purpose that can help a problem that someone who is constantly staring at a screen will likely face. I am looking forward to wearing them more in the future and gathering some more thoughts and opinions and all that good stuff about them! I am thinking about letting my mom borrow them at some point and seeing what she thinks as well! Â I highly suggest that you check out readers.com and see all the awesome things that they have to offer including other varieties of computer glasses and more!
