One thing that you are probably aware of that is one of my top favorite things to review is alcohol. I always tell you I like to try things before I buy them, especially with alcohol because I am not a person that likes to try new things when it comes to that or food! I like my old standards most of the time.  Every now and then I do get a bit adveterous when it comes to drinking- I know that sometimes back in the day David and I would go out and I would just pick different colors of drinks to try and that was always fun.

One thing I have never really tried is actually drinking shots! I don’t know why exactly- I am just never considered myself a shots type of gal- and then again I didn’t try/start drinking beer till like 5 years ago- just mixed drinks and wine for me! I can’t say I wasn’t curious but straight alcohol in a shot- like say just a shot of tequila- just isn’t that appealing to me!

Hello There, Twisted Shotz!

So when I heard about Twisted Shotz- these awesome flavored liquors/regular liqours mixed together into one shot, I was VERY interested.  So when the awesome folks from Twisted Shotz offered to send a box of goodies to me to review, I was doing cartwheels waiting on UPS to get here with it! Which, granted I do any time I am expecting a package but sometimes i’m a bit more excited than others 🙂

They not only sent me several varieties of Shotz, but they also sent me a t-shirt, a tank top, a pin, and a tray! I just love bonus goodies- you can see the tray and the t-shirt in the image above but here is a little collage I made of the tank top and the party pack! I can’t wait to get to go to bike night or actually get out and about one evening and wear that tank top! Oh- and I have adopted the shirt for vegging around the house purposes- very comfy!

I figure that for this post the best way to do it, is like I have been doing several of my posts with the gift guide that have had various flavor option- just break it down by flavor and give the info and my/david’s thoughts and opinions on each.

I have to tell you before i get into it though- David RARELY drinks- usually if he does we are hanging out with his dad/brother/brad and that isn’t something that we have done in a long time, and it will usually just be beer… and Sometimes he might pick up something at the ABC store a few times a year and drink it here at the house.

We make it a general practice to not really be out and about drinking – we don’t want any drama whether it be drinking/driving drama or anything else that might come along with being out and drinking! We also generally don’t drink together for some strange reason lol.

Anyways David had a horrid day at work the day I got these and I had planned on saving them for over time /the weekend but he got right into them and was enjoying them TONS and he was having a good time so I just went with it and we listened to music and just chilled. I have to say it was one of the rare occasions where he actually drank more of the shots than I did.

I actually drank them really slow- they ranged between 20-22ish in percent in volume so I know that David was def. feeling them and so was I – but I think him a little more than me- for me these would be a perfect after a day of blogging and being productive , or while blogging and being productive just to be mellow with 🙂 Oh and after this? I could def. be considered not really a shot girl, but a Twisted Shotz girl!

Alright- let’s see what I can do with breaking down these flavors for you- there were only 2 that I didn’t try- and that is because I knew they were “David Flavors” to begin with!

Let’s Talk Flavors!

Porn Star– This one was a blend of  Blue Curacao and Raspberry Liqueur .. Who doesn’t like the name? I also like it was a bit sour at first and the smoothed out where it was just mostly sweet. It was a bit of a mix up with some of the others I tried because a lot of the flavors were just sweet from the get go. I enjoyed the difference!

Buttery Nipple: again how can you not love the name right? I have always like butterscotch ever since I was a little girl- my dad likes it too. For some reason most of my tastes for foods and drinks tend to lie with his and not my moms- it is funny we agree on so much of the same when it comes to these things!  Anyways, this one is all buterscotchy with some  butterscotch vodka and some vanilla cream liquor 🙂 I think this one was one of my faves! It really is hard to choose a fave though because there really wasn’t any of the ones i tried that I didn’t like!

Ginger Snap As a child i always loved those little ginger bread cookies that had the frosting on them. I also have this mad love for ginger snap cookies… they get more “hot” as you go along. of course ginger can be one of those seaonal flavors as well! It really did kind of put me in the holiday frame of mind- which is awesome because I kind of have the bah humbugs big time this year (I haven’t even blogged about it yet ha ha) This one was a ginger liquor with vanilla creme. I really liked the uniqueness of this one and the whole seasonal thing too! It was like drinking a melted gingerbread man!

Sex On The Beach Oh another one with a fun name of course! This one might have been the one I was most skeptical about trying because it was kind of a 3 flavored one- banana and pear with cream and I will tell you I am NOT a huge banana person at all. However, in the spirit of wanting to try as many of these as I could, and trying new things I tried it anyways and it wasn’t really what I expected. It all blended well, and it was mostly like the banana was an after thought!

Root beer Flirt I have to admit I was always a bigger fan of cream soda than root beer but… I didn’t really hate it either! This one was pretty much exactly what you would expect and is made out of root bear liquor and vanilla vodka with cream which kind of punched it up a bit. I also thought this one was fairly unique and interesting

Polar Bear O.K I didn’t try this one- I am not huge on mint and chocolate together for some reason- I would have likely tried it anyways, but I could tell it was one of David’s favorite so I just let him go with it. He said it was like a liquid peppermint patty and from the way he said that, I am thinking that was a good thing 🙂

Midnight Mocha: this another one that I just let David go at. Not to say I don’t like Coffee but Mocha is not a favorite of mine. David said this one tasted like straight up espresso- which is one of his favorite things!  This one was coffee and a chocolate shot. If I had it to do over I would try at least one 🙂

Strawberry Sundae– It has always been said I a Strawberry girl. not that I really can explain what that means but anyways – this one was just a bit overboard on sweet for me. I am not saying I hated it- but .. it was a little more sweet than I liked. This one was a strawberry vodka and a vanilla cream liquor.

Rattlesnake O.K. I was on this thing that I wasn’t going to rank these but- this one might be my favorite for REAL.. I tend to love things that are made out of tequila and lime. Heck there is a tequila lime chicken dish at my favorite restaurant that I really love if that helps Oh and Margaritas of course!  It was a mix of  tequila and lime liquor and yes, it was bitter as all get out to start out but after the fact it was smooth to a finish!

Summing it up:

If you couldn’t tell I really enjoyed every one of the varieties that I tried!I know that David did as well- and he actually tried them all! Twisted Shotz comes in several other flavors, and they have other flavors planned for the future, and I am very much looking forward to trying them and possibly bringing you the reviews here on the site!

I know everyone picks on me and that I don’t find an alcohol that I don’t like ,but that is not true and this was one of those “mellow” things for me and for David so I enjoyed them all the more because of that and can’t wait to have some more of them in the future!
