Most of you know ever since I got my Nutri Ninja I have been making smoothies right, left , sideways and upside down – but so far basically the same smoothie because I tend to find one thing that works and stick with it! I do plan evolve especially with it being spring and with all the seasonal fruits and whatnot- plus I have every intention of making some slushies and such too!
So when I had the chance to review for Blender Boyz I was pretty interested. Not only do they have smoothie mixes where all you have to do is add the milk and ice- they also have cappuccino mixes- and I didn’t get any of the ones for mixed drinks (but perhaps in the future!) they have those as well. I was really happy to give them a try! I was excited not only for the various flavors -3 in each line, but the ease of use as well! I like that I don’t have to have fresh fruit (or frozen) for the Smoothies and I also liked that I don’t have to have a ton of ingredients for the iced coffees as well!
I will also admit to in the past not being a big fan of ice coffees because for some reason starbucks drinks have insanely too much caffeine for me and every time I have one I get REALLY sick off of them. I have also had a notion that ice coffee is weird- and it is funny because my grandma and I actually have had this conversation in the past! I think it is just I can’t find any with a flavor that I like- which really i just like vanilla – i am a very plain simple person when it comes to that, but just seems like everything I have ever tried in the past just tasted meh to me (I don’t like regular coffee in general but I have a few mixes I love) or they just crashed me and made me sick.
I have hoped to find some iced coffee that I could like, because lets face it it is hot in the south in the spring , summer and most of the fall so.. I wouldn’t mind adapting if I could find something that I like! Oh and if you want to you don’t have to use milk- you can use ice cream or yogurt or even water in a pinch! In the long run all you need is a pouch and some ice! I like the way that they say they are basically the K-Cup for you blender!
Blender Boyz mixes shocked me when I first got them in the fact that they are LIQUID and not a powder. I don’t know WHY I was expecting a powder but in my head- I guess where I do use instant coffee I just had powder in my head. That does help with blending them up though- you don’t have to add so much of whatever liquid you are using – in these cases milk.
Something else that impressed me before I even got started is the fact you can buy them at target in a pack of 4 for 4.99, which means you are only paying $1.25 for each drink! That is WAY less than you would pay for a drink at a coffee place or even some of those ones you buy in the store. Also? These are so much more quick and convenient – we don’t even have a coffee place that is in my town!
In the case of the smoothies they are made with real fruits and come in 3 varieties- Berry Blend, Strawberry Banana and Tropical Paradise. I am a big berry person so I really liked the berry blend one! The tropical one was awesome as well, and I am not the biggest banana person and i actually think it is an overused fruit when it comes to smoothies but I didn’t mind it with the strawberry and it was refreshing and a bit different to me than the norm- though like I Say with me it might be because I have practically banned bananas lol
The Coffees were a welcome LIKE/LOVE for me- because like i say I needed some kind of cool /iced variety of coffee to take me through the spring and summer and I think I finally have found them! I liked not crashing, I liked the flavors- oh the flavors are – Regular (not an overpowering coffee flavor- just right!) French Vanilla (which has always been my favorite in the instant coffees) and Caramel- which was a welcome new flavor that I don’t hate either! I have always liked caramel in general!
I am enjoying having the Blender Boyz Drink mixes – especially with the upcoming warm weather and now I have another way to use my nutri ninja too! I like the variety of flavors, the price, the conveinece and how easy they are to use/make! I really hope to try the cocktail mixes in the future- even if I have to make them as a virgin drink I think they would be yummy! These will be helping my Ninja get a workout well into the fall I am sure!
