Sometimes there is an item that totally screams at you, telling you that you MUST have it. If you are a woman, I am sure you know exactly what I am talking about! Something that is SO VERY you! Something you just have to have!
A while back on pinterest I saw something called the Mommy Sippy cup and I didn’t cick the link or anything I just thought ha ha that is so cool, repinned it and moved on.
Imagine my surprise when I was conversing with a friend and she told me she had gotten one to review! I was totally excited, and I decided to pitch and see if they wanted to work with me as well. I mean you all know how I am all about Wine and Wine goodies..and if you know me very well on facebook you probably have heard me say more than once I am drinking wine out of a sippy cup.
I do it because I just like to be cute and say “Hey, I am drinking wine out of a sippy”. You all know how I like to be precious and childlike and all that good stuff! I also do it because generally I drink red wine and I don’t want to make too horrible of a mess if I can help it! I leave the mess making to David’s brother who totally spills drinks every time I turn around when he is over!
So I was more than excited when I heard back from the gals over at The Mommys Sippy Cup that they were interested in working with me! I was totally squeeing all over the place! I don’t think I have been this excited over a review in goodness knows when.
When it arrived, of course I went out got some wine to christen it with! I mean it is just sitting there calling to you to drink out of it, and I couldn’t ignore the pleas!
The Mommys Sippy cup is a plastic (oh, I adore plastic in dishware!I have always been afraid I would get hurt on glass in the dish washing process) cup that is formed like a wine glass on the inside. Of course, you can drink other things like juice and such out of it if you wanted, but I haven’t gotten around to that at this point yet!
On the outside it is painted with purple pacifiers that make up grapes and there are green rattles that make up the stems! It is simplistic but gorgeous in design, and of course with the design it just makes it over the edge cute in my opinion!
What interested me the most is with most regular run of the mill sippy cups you have to suck the heck out of one to get anything out of them, or they have straws, and I am just not a fan of either really because I don’t like sucking my brain out or drinking wine through a straw. I have the habit of taking the lid off, drinking and the putting the lid on while it is sitting around.
The lid on the Mommys Sippy cup kind of reminded me of a coffee cup lid, except you can slide the cover back to drink and then back again if that makes sense? I took a picture of the lid so you can maybe see what I mean!
The lid is easy to get on and off as well, it just snaps on and pops off. It fits good and snug too! Of course I am sure if you tipped it over , that unlike most children’s sippy cups it would leak, but I didn’t try that theory out. It’s for cute, not for practical I guess is what I am getting at!
So over all how is my drinking experience with my Mommys sippy cup? I love it! It is cute, functional, and does it’s job very well. I do tend to get it a little too full, and it kind of bubbles up through the drinking hole and stuff but that’s my own fault lol.I also like to show it off to people as well!
Here are some helpful care instructions and tips that were included on a tiny piece of paper inside of the cup, that I am lucky to have not have lost at this point!
-Can be used for hot or cold liquids (Double walled)
-BPA Free
-HAND WASH ONLY, with warm soapy water…do not soak or submerge!
-Do not microwave or freeze
-not intended for children
I think if you are a wine person, and even if you don’t have kids (not a mommy, like myself) this is still an awesome little thing that you should have one of! It is honestly just too cute for words! So I suggest you stop by their site and snag a Mommys Sippy Cup for yourself, or someone else you know who likes wine, I don’t think anyone involved would be disappointed!
