This is a review of alcohol and you must be of legal drinking age in your country to enjoy these sorts of beverages!
You all probably have saw a “few’ reviews of alcohol around the site, but for the most part they have been for Wine- which I love wine, so it is all good! However, when I got the chance to review what I would classify more as “hard stuff” from UV Vodka I pretty much did cartwheels!
First of all UV Vodka has so many flavors of vodka I couldn’t even believe that many flavors existed- I have to always say I am a person who pretty well sticks with basic things, and with things that I “know” especially when it comes to food and drinks! I had heard of a few flavors for vodka before – I mean I am not totally out of the loop but- to get to try them in a review context just makes it better!
Picking Flavors is hard to do!
I got the chance to choose 3 of the huge variety of flavors that they have- and it was really hard to narrow it down. Vodka is a common alcohol that I normally do have on hand in the “regular form” because I have always felt it will mix with pretty well anything.UV Vodka does have a couple variations of the “regular” form, but I wanted to be adventurous and try something new for once, so I didn’t even mix a regular in with my other 2 selections- I was actually shocked at myself!
I decided to try their newest flavor -Sangria because Sangria is a favorite of mine in a wine type of drink, Salty Caramel apple because of my mad love of all things apple, and Cake flavor because I have mad love for cake as well! Of course as always when it comes to me getting more than one flavor of something I just like to break it down and tell you about them, and then my thoughts and – as a bonus I have recipes for you this go around too!
UV Vodka Cake Flavor
I will start out with my absolute favorite- UV Vodka Cake Flavor! It was really versatile just like regular vodka and I could pretty well mix in whatever I just happened to have on hand- I mixed it with strawberry soda, peach soda, etc. I liked that I didn’t really have to get anything all that “special for it”It is like a white /vanilla cake type of flavor so it blended in really well.
I am not a huge fan of chocolate except it is kind of when I want it, I want it then type of deal- and I generally have some vanilla snack cakes tucked away in the house somewhere- now I might be even known to get up in the middle of the night and eat them every now and then too- just a fun fact for you!
This one also is fairly an easy drink by its self, like as a shot. I also saw around the web the absolute cutest shot glass that I am now obsessed with having one of- seriously check it out: UV Vodka Cake Cute Shot Glass!
There are several recipes for each variety of UV vodka on their website but I had my awesome PR gal send me her suggestions for my flavors and decided to share those here
1 part UV Cake
3 parts pineapple juice
Blend with ice and serve.
This is one I can’t wait to try. I just need to remember to pick up some pineapple juice!
UV Salty Caramel Apple Flavor
The UV Salty Caramel Apple is my 2nd favorite- I always have loved everything apple- and I have this association with it being “fallish” and I don’t care what time of the year it is I am all about everything Fall- If you couldn’t tell because of the sites name or anything like that!
I know that apple doesn’t necessarily have to scream fall- but it just does to me, and I love a little reminder of it when I can get it! I always try to explain it when I say it but I don’t think I can explain it but I try 🙂
I liked this one by ittself pretty well, and it had a good balance of salt and apple! I love caramel apples but no one I know ever makes them anymore- I know when I was younger my friend Ashley’s mom made them for us , but it wasn’t something my mom ever made.
Usually when I find them at the store they have peanuts on them and of course miss allergic to everything (me) can’t have them.. and I have never tried on my own- might be something I try in the future. However, having this was a awesome and less of a mess for sure!
There were several really simple recipes for this one- including a hot cider one that I will def. be trying when it is cooler outside again! That would be good for my evening patio sitting that I do when the weather changes 🙂 I also got suggested this recipe
1 part UV Salty Caramel Apple
3 parts cranberry juice
I actually generally do have cranberry juice and I love the way that it mixed up!
UV Vodka Sangria Flavor
The UV Vodka Sangria flavor is one of their newest flavors and it was the one that just by the name I thought would be my favorite, but sadly it wasn’t. I don’t HATE it or anything but it has this overpowering alcohol taste to it in my opinion, even though it is 30% by volume just like the other ones- it just seems that the actual flavor part doesn’t cover up the alcohol taste enough for me
. Now that is as far as drinking it plain like as a shot. I haven’t actually got to try it any other way yet. I am generally a huge fan of Sangria as in with fruit and mixed with red wine and what not so I am really looking forward to trying it more in that sort of context- the recipe I have includes lemon lime soda- which I generally would have , but I have been on a no soda kick for a while and we don’t have any on hand.
1 part UV Sangria
3 parts lemon-lime soda
Serve in a glass with ice & sliced fruit, or add ingredients to a pitcher or punch bowl.
Summing it Up:
I am really enjoying my UV Vodka and I hope to be able to try more of them in the future. They are very affordable for the 750 ML bottle at around $15. I also am enjoying following them on social media and you should check them out there as well! You can find them on Facebook / Twitter
