You know how I really like pictures, and I always say how I hate how people just hoard them up on Facebook/their phone/etc and they don’t seem to get printed and shared in quite the same way that pictures used to.
Well, I have found a new way to fix at least one of those “issues”! I recently got the chance to review a app with a perk: a real photobook! Enter my new little friend, groovebook! Groovebook is an app for android or iphone that allows you to get a 4×6 photobook of 100 pictures a month from your phone! You can find the app in the play store or app store, depending on which device you have.
The book is only $2.99 which is basically the price of shipping! I don’t know anywhere else to get 100 pics printed and shipped that cheap! The app is pretty self-explanatory to use, you just have to sign up for an account, and go from there. It will ask you for credit /debit card info but that is for later on
. Basically If you decide you don’t want a book for a month it is a subscription service so unless you cancel they will charge you the 2.99. However, you can cancel your account. If you take a lot of pics with your phone though, I wouldn’t see why you wouldn’t want it one month. Or, even if you had to miss a month here and there it wouldn’t be so bad!
I used my first groovebook as a way to print from over 300 pictures that were on my iphone just in case something happened when I switched to the note II that way that they wouldn’t be totally lost in case I couldn’t back them up. Everything went well though, and I still ended up with a photobook of 100 of my favorite pics.I did have a bit of a snafu with my account when I changed from the iphone to my note II but it is all taken care of now. They were very quick to help me and get everything situated.
So the question is how did the book turn out right? It turned out really nice! The book is white and pretty sturdy with wavy pattern with the words Groovebook.com stamped in purple shiny letters. The pictures turned out fairly well for the most part, given they came from an iphone 4 camera. Some of the pics that I had zoomed in to take or had taken with my front facing camera in low light weren’t the best but that was my fault lol.
Each pic is perforated so you can take it out for whatever purpose if you want to. I have a few I am going to take out before I show my grandma because they have beer or margaritas in lol. They also have the date and time taken and the location where they were taken as well.
I really can’t wait to get back into taking more pictures with my Samsung Galaxy Note II because they picture quality on that camera is so much better, I know that a groovebook printed with those pics would be really awesome!
The awesome folks at groovebook also gave me a code to share with my readers so that you can get your first book totally free! The code is GROOVERAIN1. I will get a little reward myself for everyone that uses that code as well! (If you use the code do me a small favor and leave a comment that you used it, and be sure to use the email that you used with the code, that way I can help keep track!)
So I suggest you go and check it out and start rescuing your pics from your phone camera!
