I recently had the chance to review a coupon app called SnipSnap Coupon App, which is a free app that you can download from the app store, and I was intrigued of course, so I decided to give it a try!
Mom and her couponing and thriftyness have really started to get to me. Not that I haven’t always been frugal, I mean 99% of my stuff comes from yardsales and thriftshops lol.
First of all , this app so far is only for Iphone..Yes, I feel special sometimes for having an Iphone 🙂 This is one of those times! There is an android version in the works, so just be patient and your day will come!
Another thing that isn’t available quite yet is the option to scan manufacturing coupons, but that is in the works as well, and that really excites me! That will be an amazing addition believe me, if I didn’t have to carry all that paper around and worry about keeping things straight, and it was simply right there on my phone..Oh I’d be a couponing machine!
So, lets get into the good part, what is available and what it does, and all of that good stuff!
First of all you can grab a printed coupon like from your newspaper / local store/ restaurant, etc and take a picture of it through the app with your phones camera and then it will convert it into a digital coupon for you to be able to use on the go.
Sometimes it can take a little while for your coupon to show up, but don’t worry it will! You can set alerts to let yourself know when you have entered a store you have a coupon for, and you can set alerts for letting you know when it will expire.
I know that in my experience in the past some stores won’t scan directly off of your phone, but I know that many of them will key in the numbers that are applicable and then you can mark it as used and indicate if the store was willing to accept the coupon.
Honestly, I know in real life before I have used regular coupons and had to have them typed in, so most stores won’t or shouldn’t have a problem with doing that! There are post it style flags next to the stores name that can give you an idea of what kind of odds you might encounter with them accepting phone coupons.
Say that you don’t have any coupons laying around that you can snap right now, or say that you are looking for more to use? Look no further than the Discover app, where you can find the most recent ones that have been scanned by other users. You can also use the search feature to find something in particular that you might be looking for.
This is a very simple and very nifty app, that has so much to offer, and in my opinion a lot of potential in the future! I have had fun getting to try it out, and I can’t wait to be able to use it more in the future.
I really like that it is as convenient as using your phone, and it will help cut down on trying to keep things organized and the paper trail and everything. I know that my purse has enough stuff in it, and even when I have paper coupons I can’t hardly ever find them even when they are there because of the mess! This helps make the mess be less!
