One thing I do like about living in these apartments (the one like we used to live in back when we first got married, that we recently moved back to) are they have gas heat & water. We seemed to do so much better when we had gas heat & water as opposed to electric heat.
I believe the highest bill that we ever got for gas was a little bit over 100 bucks, and that was a february bill that was for January when we had a big ice storm. other than that all of our utilities, including gas barely ever hit 120 or so.
When we moved out of my parents in January to the apt. down the road..the first months power bill was like 200 bucks! we quickly rushed off to walmart to buy a space heater,and found one of the ones that was stored away at my moms.
The sad thing is my parents live in a house that is like..3x the size of that apt and their bill was barely 100 bucks! We eventually tamed the bill down but i was still hitting like 100+ a month all through the winter months..
I tell you all of that, to tell you about the most recent product I have got the chance to review! I recently got the chance to review a Warmly Yours Area Rug Warmer! Warmly Yours has tons of awesome heating products including Under Desk Heaters & Towel warmers to just name a couple!
I was all kinds of excited for this one, especially since these older apartments can get a little cooler, and with Davids hours getting cut, we are always looking for ways to cut back on using things like power, gas,water,etc.
The Warmly Yours area rug warmer,is basically a heater that you conceal under an area rug (one of the larger ones. The dimensions are 3’6” x 4’6”). Granted when I first got mine, it was hitting like 90 degree weather in the middle of October and such!
Installation was easy you simply unroll it, and put it with the non-slip side down, plug in & turn on! Soon, you will start to feel gradual heat !Basically what the Area Rug Warmer does is have the warmth rise gently from the floor to the ceiling across the whole surface of the warmer!
Granted, I haven’t got to use it very much as of yet, with the crazy warm weather we are still having in November, but I can already tell I’m going to LOVE LOVE LOVE it come the Winter months! Oh and Sam(the Cat) gives it his approval as well! I can’t wait to get that first months Gas bill that would reflect normal usage! I can guarantee it will be an awesome time!
The area rug warmer also comes with a very helpful user manual that I would suggest that you read before using, that way you can be more informed with the guidelines and precautions,etc
The one thing that didn’t work out so good with this Area Rug Warmer for me, was the fact that the plugins in this house are far and few between, and the cord on it isn’t very long. we had to run it back behind the couch from underneath the recliner part. Which made it reach perfectly to my available plugin, but the control for on and off is on the end of the plug. Luckily I do have small hands, so i can reach behind the couch and get it on & off.
In all, I am VERY happy with the Warmly Yours Area Rug Warmer and look forward to using it this winter!
