When I was in college I was OBSESSED with making my bed every morning , especially when I was away at school! I think that this was mainly because I spent a lot of time in my room when I was at school and I wanted it to be as neat as possible, and I spent a lot of time sitting in the bed doing various things like homework and watching tv and all of that sort of thing! I generally DO make my bed every day now, even though it might not be as soon as my feet hit the floor! It kind of depends on when I get "around to it" and if Sam is snoozing in the bed(I don't like to wake a sleeping orange evil kitteh lol) It pretty well has to be made every day because our covers get all kinds of messed up because David is a very tossy turny sleeper and he lays on top of the covers and then under the covers and so forth! He is what I call a hotdog sleeper vs a hamburger sleeper! A hot dog sleeper is someone who kinda rolls up in the covers and then a hamburger sleeper is like well.. a hamburger … [Read more...]

Getting the word out about campus book rentals #sponsored
I think this year I am missing the whole back to school thing/back to college thing more than I ever have before! I think it stems from this fact that of course fall is my favorite season and I just ADORED fall in the mountains when I lived there and I haven't been to the mountains for a visit in the fall for a long time, but I hope I get to go this year! There were lots of things to love about going to college, and one of my favorites was that when I went away to Appalachian State we were able to rent our books from the book store for a flat rate fee and it was really an awesome idea and I wondered why more places didn't consider something like that or WHY there wasn't somewhere that you could just rent your books ... at this point in my life there were not any sites like my friends over at Campus Book Rentals! Campus Book Rentals is an awesome site where you can go and rent your books and save TONS of money! I know my books at some points rivaled the cost of my actual tuition … [Read more...]
a dreary day , but i’m up early :)
Hey Everyone I decided even though it is a dreary looking day -but really at this point I am excited for that kind of weather! We haven't had really ANY rain this summer- maybe 3 or 4 times tops since APRIL, I just decided to get up and see what I could manage to get into! I don't have anything horribly pressing that needs done but since the mood had struck I figured I would go with it! I honestly CAN NOT believe it is already Wed! this week is FLYING by- I guess because of labor day and all that I have my days all threw out of whack! We ended up going to my moms for a cook out that day so that was fun. David and I of course didn't get into a whole lot over the weekend , but now that we have cable I don't even care lol. I had hoped to tackle my closet to work on yardsale stuff (yes, yardsale part 2 wahoo lol) and it just never happened. We aren't having the next yardsale until Sept 26th so I have plenty of time still :) I am glad to say I have got a lot of things cleaned out of … [Read more...]
REVIEW:Carowinds Bands Brews And BBQ Recap #luvcarowinds #caroblogger
I received complimentary food and drinks in exchange for writing about this event as part of the carowinds carobloggers program, in which I received gold seasons passes in exchange for writing about various park events and experiences. All experiences and thoughts and opinions are honest and my own. Your experiences thoughts and opinions may vary. A few weeks ago I had the chance to check out a brand new event at Carowinds that they ran for about 3 weekends Fri-Sun, called Bands Brews & BBQ's! I got to go the first weekend that it started and I was pretty excited about it! Usually when people start talking about BBQ it is generally pork, which you may or might not know about me- I don't eat pork! (Yeah, O.K... go ahead call me a picky eater I can handle it lol). I was really excited because there were beef options, as well as poultry options (chicken, duck , turkey) so if there is a particular meat you don't eat , you still had tons of options to choose from! Among each … [Read more...]
Have you traced your family tree?
I am trying to write along with some of the prompts from the sits gals for this month! I thought it would be a good way to get some flow going :) If you want to check some of the prompts out for your own blog you can find them here: Writing Prompts for September 30 Days of Prompts I have always been interested in family history and I was lucky to be able to spend time with my grandparents, including my great grandma for summer vacations , weekends and more as a child! I Know that a lot of people never really even get to know their grandparents, and I know that I have said it a million times I was VERY lucky to be able to know my great grandma for 26 years of my life! I know that in 8th grade we had to do some sort of elaborate family history project and that included doing grave stone rubbings to get bonus points on it! I think this kind of got my mom more into working on it, and she has really went with it over the last few years especially. She has elaborate files and folders, … [Read more...]
Up Dark & Early
Hey Everyone Well I am up DARK and Early! Seriously- it is about 630 and pitch black, but I have an appointment at 10 so there wasn't too horribly much of a reason to go back to sleep! Especially since I have to take out Marley (and she isn't used to going out early!) and get ready.. oh and I have a paper that I need to try to finish .. ugh! I honestly thought about emailing and seeing if I could go in a bit early and just be done. I did an earlier appointment than normal because I am having my mom take me and I know she won't go in with me and last time she spent an hour in the car late in the afternoon! I just don't want to chunk up her day too much. I don't think the appointment will be very in depth and I plan not to be as chatty as normal either lol. I want to go hang out with my mom today, but I will probably do that tomorrow or sometime over the weekend that way if I wait I can see my dad and all that good thing. I t really does seem like Labor day is late this year! I … [Read more...]
