As you may or may not know, I started having really bad asthma attacks last year when we moved. I have had symptoms and really minor episodes for more years than I can remember but nothing that really alarmed me, but when we moved here last summer and then by last fall I knew something was wrong and started looking into things to help including primatene and an inhaler.
One other option that I was using at the time was a humidifier but mine was really old and bit the dust. We used awesome expensive air filters and keep them changed but then again we have always done that. Then we tried an air purifier but the filters for it were pretty much as the actual purifier. So when I got a chance to get one to review from Crane USA I was like Hallelujah!
Even better the Humidifier that they wanted to send me is the Crane USA BUZZ THE BUMBLEBEE COOL MIST HUMIDIFIER and I was like well now I know that it was meant to be because you may or may not also know I kind of have this odd thing for bees! First of all my blogging group I had was called BE and we had BEE’s as our mascot. Then my parents have BEES and I find them to be OMG fascinating (seriously, I have considered adding a page on this blog about bee’s so…that should tell you something lol). Buzz is from the “adorable” line and is available exclusively at bed bath and beyond and buybuy baby.
The humidifier I had before was nothing to “write home about” so to speak. It was old, it had been my moms for years and it was very standard,so not only was I excited to get one in general, I was excited to get one that was really cute and more modern.
I like using a humidifier not only for my breathing , but for a lot of reasons including my dry skin which will soon be the dreaded winter skin 🙁 as well as using it for helping me sleep a little better too (I have noticed when I use one it does tend to help with that too. Some other things that a humidifier can help you with are things like when you are sick(coughing and all that kind of thing) as well as nose bleeds and more.
Buzz the BumbleBee has a lot of awesome features including a whisper quiet run time of up to 24 hours, an auto off feature when it does run out of water, doesn’t use a lot of power (equivalent of a 45 watt bulb) , and Clean Control Antimicrobial Material in the Base is proven to help reduce mold and bacteria growth up to 99.96%.
One of my FAVORITE Things is that you CAN use a filter, but you don’t HAVE to use a filter which is awesome! Another thing I really like is that it gets that 24 hour run time off a tank that is only 1 gallon! Oh and that tank? it can pretty well fit under a sink if you choose to store it (mine is pretty much in use 24/7 365 and he is so cute so even when he isn’t he’s sitting in the bedroom!)
As far as using Buzz, he is pretty easy to use! He is in 3 pieces, his head, his body and the base and you simply take off his head, unscrew the top of the base and put the water in it and then put him back together. The filter goes in the base if you choose to use one. Maintenance is fairly easy as well – all you need to do is empty out the water tank /basin portions once a day and disinfect it once a week.
The operation of the unit is fairly simple as well , there is one knob and if you turn it to the left all the way it is off and then you can adjust your “flow” by turning it to the right. If you notice a lot of steam/fog in your house (which we did) you might want to consider adjusting it down a bit and keeping your door cracked!
I am REALLY enjoying Buzz, and I am very glad to have such a cute, easy to use and helping me with various things like breathing, sleeping , dry skin and more!
