As you might have realized by now I am a salty kind of girl when it comes to snacks, but that doesn’t mean that every now and again I don’t like something sweet like candy! So when I had the chance to review some Ice Chips Candy that was featured on Shark Tank I was pretty excited! I am a pretty big fan of Shark tank and I do remember vaguely seeing the Ice chips when they were first featured on the show. Basically it is these two awesome ladies who have 41 grandchildren between them and started in a garage! I like that kind of concept, because it makes me think of how my grandma is such an inspiring lady to me and all that good stuff and i bet if she had an idea like this she would be out and about doing it just like these two gals, because that is the way she is! she is 76 years old and I swear she will never be OLD because she is always busy at something that she loves to do , and even with that really bad broke foot she had last winter it really didn’t slow her down a bit! I hope i can be that way when I am older for sure!
The main thing that stands out with Ice Chips candy is that it is made with a little something called Xylitol which is all kinds of awesome! It is a natural sugar which comes from birch wood, It makes this candy not be bad for your teeth like most candy, and it makes the candy safe for those with Diabetes (like my grandma). I will tell you from the get go, as the known “picky” eater gal, I general go ew natural sugar no way – but this is totally totally different!
There are TONS of varieties of this candy that you can choose from, and not only can you pick from a tray of your favorite flavor or you can pick from some pre-made trays OR you can customize your own, which is what I did! I chose 6 flavors that I would enjoy and just went from there!
I figured the best way to finish out this review is to just tell you what between me/david and my mom and dad we thought about the various flavors! A few other notes though
1. keep these away from your furry friends! They can be toxic!
2. I love the way they are literally like little chips and you can just pick what size of a piece you might want
3. You don’t want to eat an entire tin at one time because it can cause a bit of tummy troubles!
First up you knew I was going to pick Pumpkin Spice right? I mean hello You know how obsessed with Fall I am obviously because I tell ya’ll all the time and the sites name is Autumn-Rain 🙂 Anyways this one was OMG pleasant! Very fallish, tastes like a awesome pumpkin pie with just a tiny bit more cinnamon! I let my mom try this one and she really liked it- I knew the other varieties would not be “her” if you know what I mean lol.
Next, we have Coffee N Cream which is David’s favorite! It tastes just like regular coffee with cream and for some odd reason the last few times I have tried to drink regular coffee which I love, it ends up backfiring on me and I get a caffeine rush and crash thing,so I haven’t got to drink any in a while but this was just bring back those precious memories 🙂 I let my dad try this one when we were over there and he really like it as well and he isn’t a big candy person at all but when I was telling him about the xylitol he was game to try it!
Moving onto the clove, which is one that I picked especially for David because I know he like clove cigarettes or cigarillos or whatever they are! These are STRONG and we didn’t necessarily NOT like them but they were a little different than what we had expected! Clove is VERY “hot” in case you didn’t know 🙂 I think David’s quote was that he felt like he had ate an entire pack of the cigarettes when he just had had one lol. However, we are just sticking to the tinier pieces/breaking the bigger ones into with these. I think my bro in law really like these and if I feel nice the next time he over I might let him have them. Especially since he asked me where he could get some more at 🙂
Strawberry Daiquiri might possibly my favorite of the bunch! I have always been “a strawberry kind of gal” and I always seem to migrate towards strawberry types of flavors. Anyways,I generally do like Strawberry Daiquiri’s as a drink So.. I just knew I had to try this one 🙂 I really like it and it tastes pretty well and very nice and fruity!
Menthol Eucalyptus I got this one because i know that when I have some of my sinus problems and what not that things with Eucalyptus really help me with that and there have been several times I popped one of these in my mouth to help with that very thing! I like to say it is like the effect of vicks vapo rub just in your throat- but that might sound like not so good to most people, but for me myself I love it- it just helps open up those air ways a little bit!
Margarita is another of my favorites because of course I love margarita’s 🙂 I like on these though I don’t have to drink the tequila and get the hangover though I generally get the only hangovers I get from margs! this is the perfect ratio of your lime/salt goodness! Another of my two faves- or 3.. or well 6 🙂
There are tons of other flavors that you can choose from, these are just the ones I decided to try for a first time go through, and I hope I can try some more in the future! for a 6 pack of your choosing it runs about 32 bucks so that isn’t horribly bad by any means, especially for candy that isn’t going to mess with your teeth , is good for diabetics and has all those awesome other xylitol benefits!
