Guys, there is nothing that I hate more than dog owners who don’t look after their dog. I mean, if you bring a dog into your home, you better be prepared for the commitments and the consequences. In a way, it’s just like having a kid. You’ve got to keep them fit, but you also need to teach them the rules. You can’t just let them run wild. That’s going to lead to all sorts of problems. What am I talking about exactly? Here are the things I think all dog owners need to be doing when looking after their pet.
Scoop The Poo!
Who get’s in trouble when there’s dog poop all over the place? The owners, that’s who. Notice I used the plural. It’s not just the owner that left the poop there. It’s all dog owners in that area. If you don’t pick up your dog’s droppings, you’re making us all look bad. I know, it’s an unpleasant job. But if you don’t do this, then there would be poo everywhere. And, so that you know, your dog should never poop on someone else’s lawn. If that’s happening, then you’re not paying enough attention. As well as this, if a dog is that desperate that they’re squatting on the first patch of grass, you’ve kept them in too long.
Free Of Disease

If a dog has a disease or an illness, it can spread through neighborhood pets like wildfire. When I take my dog down to the park, he will, on occasion, play with the other fluff balls. If one of those dogs has an illness that hasn’t been treated, guess who gets it? That’s right my poor wagging friend, and then I have to deal with it. I think a lot of dog owners don’t bother getting their dog checked up on because of the cost. But the cost is worth it, and you can cheapen it by getting insurance. If your dog is insured, you’ll only have to pay the cost for coverage. You won’t have to pay for each, individual treatment. Go Compare has all the information you might need on getting your dog insured.
Safety First Please

I hate the idea of putting a muzzle on a dog. I’m not saying that all dogs should be muzzled either. But dogs should be kept on leads if they can’t be trusted. Don’t forget, though, if your dog can’t be trusted around other dogs or humans; it’s not their fault, it’s yours. That brings me to my final point.
Get Your Dog Trained
I don’t let my dog run wild. I don’t think other owners should let theirs either. I know the argument. At heart, they’re wild animals, and they should be allowed to run free. Well, no because the whole point of a pet is that it’s domesticated. If you want a wild animal go to Africa and try to tame a tiger. If you have a dog, teach it to heel, sit and stay. Make sure that it’s friendly to other dogs and that way we can all live together happily.
That’s just my thoughts on the matter. It’s time we stopped letting a few dog owners give the rest of us a bad name.
