I am a really big fan of things that are natural, just in case you can’t tell 🙂 I try to always go for natural things to help me through things for example with my asthma I tried to use my pur mist steam thing, humidifiers, etc and then when I had depression I used st johns wort vs other things that I could have used. I know that when David was having his anxiety and what not last year we tried a few essential oils and had really good success with them. I have also had some success with them when it comes to things like sleep issues ,relaxation and even with breathing sometimes, so I am a pretty big fan!
So when I got an email that had a essential oil tie in for a review from Project Therapy Threads, I was really interested and excited. I had been really wanting to work with something that was related to essential oils, but I was as always looking for the unique approach of course! I really liked the message behind it, and the idea of the product so it was a great fit!
About Therapy Threads & Dani Singer
Therapy threads is an luxury scarf company that has the awesome mission to help mental health and wellness by using essential oils. .. because smells can cause all kinds of emotional reactions! I am sure that you have probably experienced a relation when it comes to smell and a memory or emotion, because I know I have several times myself!
Psychotherapist Dani singer is very understanding of the link that smells can have with your emotional, physical and mental health. Â This is what has inspired her to design this collection, and that way the person that is wearing the scarf can feel better inside and out!
More about Essential Oils & How they relate to making you feel well!
Currently there are 3 essential oils that are being sent out with therapy threads and they are Wild Orange, which helps with anxiety, helps with energy and revitalizes the mind and body, lavender which helps with relaxation, de-stress and sleep and Citrus Bliss which helps for mood boosting. This ties in directly with the belief that certain fragrances have a connection with the part of your brain that relates with emotion growth sleep and more! I know that David and myself have experienced great success with aromatherapy and essential oils in the past, so I am def. a believer!
Thoughts and More about my Therapy Threads Scarf!
I personally LOVE that the scarf is not only functional as a scarf by itself, but the whole extra perk of it having the benefit of the aromatherapy at the same time. There are several scarfs that you can choose from made of various materials (Silk,Bamboo, Wool, etc)
The one that I received is made out of jersey knit and I liked that for me personally because it seemed to be more versatile and something that I could use both inside and out and in various seasons without maybe getting too hot! The scarves are handmade in the USA- and I love supporting products that are both homemade and made in the USA!
I also like the “Breathe” message that was on my Project Therapy Threads Breathe Aromatherapy Scarf for a few various reasons like of course my Asthma, because I know that essential oils can help with breathing difficulties. Also, we did a series at church one time about Breathe that really meant something to me as well! Oh and wearing this scarf is kind of like getting a hug when you are wearing it 🙂
Easy Access to Essential Oils at All Times:
Each scarf has a hidden pocket where you can put an essential oil aromatherapy pad that you have dropped essential oil on which will help you have access more readily than just being tied to a diffuse that you may have plugged in at home or even in your car.
You have access to it no matter where you are! I know that when David was having anxiety we didn’t really have any way to get him any relief when he was not at home as far as being able to use the essential oils so- I know the scarf might be a bit “girly” for him but I am sure he would have not minded if it would have helped him!
Therapy Threads: Giving Back and More!
Project Therapy threads gives back! Therapy threads gives a portion of all of their proceeds to a local charity, and helps with national mental health initiatives. The local proceeds go to a group called Rightfully sewn who helps to empower at risk women of domestic abuse by providing them with seamstress training and helping with job placement! I have a really soft place in my heart for women who have experienced this and I actually buy the majority of my clothes at a thrift shop that is directly supports this cause! On a national level proceeds are given to the NAMI which is the National Alliance on Mental Illness!
I feel that Therapy threads is such a multifaceted company with so many ways that they are helping everyone that they encounter and with all the giving back they are doing that they will def. have a successful future! They just launched this Summer and they have SO much to give to others!
Final Thoughts
I am enjoying my Therapy Threads scarf immensely! I like cuddling it up with it in the evenings and relaxing while I am watching tv. I like using it in the Daytime when I am working on blog posts! Â I also like wearing it out and about! Â I like the feeling that it gives me that with a simple scarf how much I am helping myself with various things, but that it has helped touch so many others as well. I look forward to getting lots of use out of it in the future!
If you want more information about these awesome scarves, the oils, the thoughts behind the project and more , I highly suggest that you stop by and find out more information on their site because there is so much more than I could highlight in one post!
