Picture software has always been one of my weaknesses! Even though i’m not graphically inclined or anything of that nature! I used to make Soap Opera Collages back in the day and every now and again I will dable with making a button or something for my site or a theme for a message board now and again.
The urge hasn’t been with me lately.I also seem to be one of those people who can never get a picture resized the proper way without using something like tinypic, which is annoying sometimes when you might want to play with a pic and aren’t online, which even happens to me sometimes!
Recently, though I got the chance to try an photo software that is more about helping you do even the most basic things with your photos instead of making things out of them! The name of the software is Pearl Mountain Image Convertor
I know it doesn’t do fancy editing but it has some awesome features such as:
convert images to other formats
resize
rotate
crop
add watermark
apply effects
add border
Oh, and best of all? you can do this to THOUSANDS of pictures at one time! Want watermarks on ALL of your pictures? It can be done with one foul swoop! It also supports up to 60 different image formats from the more popular to some of the more obscure( JPEG, BMP, TIFF, PNG, PSD, GIF, TGA, ICO, PDF, RAW …just to name a few!)
There are several presets available for some of the most common types of image sizes that you might want to use as well. If you create a setting of your own that you might commonly want to use, you can save that as well!
The software installs fast, and there are only basically 4 steps to making that image the way that you want it! Make your settings, choose your pictures, choose where you want it saved, and the convert! I am currently playing with it to make a facebook cover for autumn-rains facebook page! Another awesome thing is that there are several tutorials on their site to help you along the way!
The only thing I had a problem with was on my netbook I couldn’t get my window resized enough to actually get to see the bottom (the part where you actually pick where you want to save the image and do the actual conversion! just a hint for anyone else who might have a netbook..but then maybe you know how to resize windows and I don’t for some reason lol
I am enjoying the pearl mountain image convertor as a new way to play with my pictures, and I think that my readers might enjoy it as well, that’s why I will be having………
