Olive oil is something that I haven’t used a lot of myself until recently, and I have been guilty of using the blended kind, where it is mostly another type of oil with only a little bit of olive oil blended into it. Which really isn’t that great, and at one point, I didn’t even realize what I was using!
I know that when I was younger my mom would go to Sam’s club or Bj’s warehouse and buy the big containers of olive oil and that it was really expensive, but she would only use it in special things! I always liked the way that it made foods taste however!
I recently had the chance to review some Carapelli organic extra virgin olive oil (the site is in italian) and I was really excited about it! I have been wanting to use more olive oil, and this gave me the most awesome opportunity!
One thing that I really like about the Carapelli olive oil is that is NATURALLY cholesterol free. I know that my dad has had some problems with his cholesterol , so my mom has been trying to cut him out on eating like everything under the sun! I am hoping she might check into some for them to use as well.
Carapelli olive oil started in 1893 when Constantino Carapelli started selling his olive oil, his dream was to move his business to Florence Italy and 47 years latter his sons did just that. However, the business was destroyed during WWII. The family rebuilt, and by 1950 Carapelli was a household name!
Carapelli olive oil is made with 100% Italian olive oils, and is green in color! It has a “fruity” taste as well..kind of light and peppery at the same time!
I have used this oil in an on so many things since I have received it! If you see my bottle, you’d be amazed at how much i’ve used in such a little time! I have used it in soups, frying up chicken and such and especially on salads. I haven’t done this yet, but I do intend to use it in brushchetta and I know it is going to be simply devine! I am waiting until I can get some homegrown tomatoes to make it with though! Another thing I like to do is get some french bread or italian bread and dip it into the oil!
I have throughouly enjoyed the way that it has made everything that I have made with it, extra special and taste so much more..enjoyable! Plus I love the fact that it is so natural and cholesterol free.
I cannot say enough good things about this olive oil. Right now I’m sitting here eating a salad with this olive oil and a little vinegar and I’m glad, because if I wasn’t I’d probably be drooling thinking about it!
I received this item in exchange for my honest opinion!
