Sometimes I have to admit that I need something to do other than sitting on the computer stalking social media/email and blogging and all of that sort of thing. .. sure that would leave things to do around the house or go out and about with my mom or something of the sorts, which is totally fine! However sometimes you just want to do something that relaxes you and something that is a little bit “different”.
Something that I have always liked to do is color- which is kind of funny when you think about how much I hated coloring as a child. I think that had to do with this fact that for church we had these little books called bible lessons and we had to color one of them like every month or every 2 weeks or something and they were just -not fun when you are forced to do something I suppose!
When I started noticing the recent trend of Adult Coloring books (which to me makes them sound a little bit risque-but this is coming from a former adult review blogger, I just have been calling the Grown Up Coloring Books!) I Was pretty interested and really wanted a few of them, so when I got the chance to review a couple from Put Me In The Story, I was really excited!
Now I am sure by now you have seen many of these sorts of coloring books on your radar- and they vary in price range and some of them come with colored pencils and what not, and some are expressly themed such as butterflies or flowers. What makes the Keep Calm and Color on Coloring Books different is the ways that you are able to customize them just for you or someone you love.
There are two books in the Series: Keep Calm and Color On For Your Inner Creative & Keep Calm and Color On For Stress Relief. Each book features 60 different designs that you can color There are also various quotes throughout the book as well. There is a variety of images too like designs, flowers, patterns, animals, etc. Like I mentioned before what makes the books unique is the customization!
First of all,you can choose the name you want used, and a dedication message- since my book was for myself it was a little bit weird dedicating it to myself but these are the two messages I ended up putting:
“For when you want something different to do, and to relax too”
“For when blogging and everything else gets to be too much”
I mean feel free to get more creative than me- you have 406 characters to go with 🙂
Now back to this name thing- I put Karen-Nichole on mine and well it not only shows up on the cover, but all through the book in various ways! There is page in the front where you can color your name with a design, and remember those quotes I mentioned before? Well some of the quotes have your name on them!
I am very much enjoying the variety of pictures to color, the quotes and having my name in print so to speak! I am sure to have tons of hours of enjoyment with these 2 books in the future, and for a good while to come! If you are looking for a unique coloring book for you or a friend or family member I would suggest you look into Put Me Into the story Keep Calm and Color on Coloring Books!
