Several years back when David and I had lived with my mom and dad there for a little while, we finally got out on our own again at these apartments that are kind of in the middle of my parents/where we used to live (and lived again later on lol) and when we lived there we had a heck of a time with the power bill being outrageous, and even involved an argument more than once with the rent lady /her hubs that my AUX and Emergency heat shouldn’t be running constantly – we actually bought a heater to sit in the hall way to keep it from running 24/7! I am talking power bills up to $200+ at one point.
We moved back into town in the fall of that year, and my grandma had already bought me an awesome christmas present, because she knew we were having so many problems with the heat and everything- she had got me this really neat fireplace heater, and the year after that she got me another one(one is red and one is black and they are totally different styles) We used to use one upstairs and one down when we lived in town. Oh and while I am on the subject – David had to go back to get something we left under the house when we moved and they had put in a BRAND NEW HEAT PUMP- I guess I was right all along huh?
A while back though I saw this REALLY cute fireplace heater in WHITE and I was determined to have one. I mean something could easily happen to one of mine (which I hope not- we had the red one get clogged with fur/dust one time because we didn’t think to check under it. I was praying the entire time david had it apart and cleaning on it). Of course you all well know how much I have a “thing” for white electronics and what not. So when I got another chance to review something from Crane USA, I BEGGED for the white fire place heater!
When it arrived, I saw UPS carrying it off the truck – boy I really did luck out having a front facing apartment for sure.. now if I were only closer to the mail box i’d have it made 🙂 Anyways, you all also likely know I can read dimensions of something 400x and it never computes with me on the size of things until I see them. So I was like that is my heater? (because I was only expecting it that day and nothing else).
So yes, I was shocked at how little it was compared to my other ones- they are kind of VERY much decorative and framed and what not, but it was in a good way! This one is one that you could totally carry around the house and have it where you needed! It also has a handy little cut out type handle so that it is easy to carry around as well. Oh and of course Sam enjoys it- we have it right beside of his bed in the bedroom right now 🙂 He’s too big to lay on top like he does on the other ones 😉  My other fireplaces have like a wood look on the inside but this one has the pretty embers/coals and it just looks really sleek and I love it!
My original thought for getting this cute little White fireplace heater was to have it for when I like to sit out on the patio in the late fall and early spring just to have a tiny bit of heat- and it would still work for that- I just wouldn’t leave it outside when I wasn’t out there/overnight or whatever. Our patio is pretty well enclosed and I even had our christmas tree on the patio this year and all was well with that. I didn’t get to sit out a lot in the fall last year but I do hope when we get a little bit warmer out I will be able too and this will be a welcome edition. Like I say, I know it is recommended for indoor use but I will take precautions for sure!
The fire place is very simple to operate with a knob of sorts on the side that you just simply turn! It has 3 modes a low, a high and just simply glow. Sam and I are often awake together at night while David and Marley sleep so we enjoy having it on glow to have something pretty to look at when we are laying there. I also have got in the habit of using the heater to supplement our regular heat and even not have to use the electric blanket… though this year we have had quite a mild winter!
Here are a few other features that are worth highlighting-
-Warms your space but stays cool to the touch -Energy-efficient ceramic heating element -3 settings: Glow, 750W, 1500W (in case you were wondering what I meant by low and high!) -Overheat protection -Quiet operation
I am really enjoying the looks of my Crane-USA  Fireplace  heater both because of the heater being white and so sleek, but the look of the ember/coals and the way that it all mixes together. I like the way that it is so easy put where I want to put it and that it has 3 different modes to choose from. Oh and if white isn’t your thing – you can also find it it in red, orange and black as well! I am def. looking forward to using it in the years to come!
