Ever since I was a young gal I can remember both of my parents having problems with their backs. I know that at one point my mom and dad were both regularly going to the chiropractor… the guy they were going to had a guy who was working towards getting his license and my mom and dad both liked him better than the other dude- who we will just call DR P. DR P. was actually adjusting them in a way to make them have to keep coming back and do lots of therapy and what not, and by the same token DR W was really into helping people. When he ended up with his own practice my mom and dad have followed him wherever he has went and they still see him all these years later. He is in to healing and not hurting and wants to help!
I have had a really sore upper back and shoulders thing for years, I guess all the sitting and being on the computer and whatnot- I used to be able to get David to give me massages but that doesn’t hardly happen anymore! David has also been plagued with lower back pain and even a bit of problem going into his leg- i think it is likely a sciatic problem Dr W has actually taught my mom and dad to do a few simple adjustments over the years and every now and then I have my mom pop my back or even David’s. David has really just started having this leg thing in the last month or so and he even went and bought a cane to help him when he gets off of the couch and stuff because he says that is when it is the worst for him
So when I had the chance to review for Cush Comfort I was pretty interested because I knew SOMEONE in the family would be able to use it and that it might be able to help out with some of the back problems! When I originally applied for the review, we had our old couch which was absolutely not even comfortable especially compared to the one that we just got- of course with my blogging I pretty well blog from the couch so I was really interested! Also both my Dad and David sit in very uncomfortable heavy equipment ALL DAY for up to 12 hours plus 5 days a week!
I have only had the Cush Comfort for a week, so I haven’t got a full evaluation just yet but I will tell you all the information I can about it, and maybe at some point if I have differing opinions or updated information I can do an update to this post! Generally though I have found that my original thoughts and opinions don’t change all that much and that weeks time is a pretty decent amount of time to get a good feel for things!
My first impression was that I didn’t realize how big it would be. I mean- I guess I figured hey it would have to be big enough to sit on , obviously but I figured it would come all squished up in a box or what not- and I suck at figuring out dimensions – I pretty well have to see something to get a feel for it! When I was anticipating the package I had wrote for them to put in the package box because you all know I hate going to the office for USPS packages- turns out it wouldn’t fit in the package box because it wasn’t all wadded into a box- it was flat! In other words I was pretty impressed that it arrived in its natural beauty and shape!
The Cush comfort has many awesome features- now granted we haven’t tried too many options but I know that at one time david was actually taking one of those cheap chair cushions you can buy for around $5 at walmart to work when he was training people because he had to sit kinda weird to fit in the equipment. I really don’t even know what happened to that thing , but I know it really didn’t do him much good. I bet it got threw out somewhere out at the quarry! Some of the features include that it is made out of 100% memory foam and that it is also washable! It is also made where it doesn’t feel all hard as a rock and that it will hold up over time too.
After you have sat on the cushion for as little as 30 seconds it already starts to mold to form fit your tush! It is heat responsive in other words. One thing that fascinated david and myself before we got ours was how it was cut out so to speak- we were like why? It turns out that is for your tailbone to suspend which will relieve pressure and strain on your spine from doing all that long period of time sitting. It also has a non slip bottom so you can pretty well sit it on all kinds of different surfaces!
I was hoping that David would take the cushion to work and use it in his equipment but he said he didn’t want them picking on him so he’s really just used it in the house on the couch. I have tried it out in the car when we traveled to my grandmas over the weekend – because David said it made him feel too tall to drive (he practically drives in the back seat all laid back- we are always picking on him) It really made me not get so numb when I was riding! So far both of our experiences have been positive, and I am impressed by the quality of it!
If he doesn’t start using it a little more though, I am going to send it to my Dad and Mom to try out. I bet my dad totally wouldn’t mind if anyone picked on him about taking it to work! My Dad actually has more back troubles than David or myself anyways!
I really am enjoying getting to know my Cush Comfort and I can’t wait to see how it works out for me in the future! You can enter the code clubcush on their site and save 10% also!
