A few months ago I told you all about a site that I had found called Schoola-it wasn’t even a sponsored post I had just found the site via some blogging friends and thought it was awesome! Schoola is this awesome site where you can get awesome children and womens clothes and accessories for awesome prices!I also like that everything is pretty well a brand, even though it might cost just a tiny bit more than what I would normally pay for something second hand- but i’ll get into the particulars here in just a sec!
I personally do not mind gently used clothing and I actually have pretty well always worn things from yardsales, thrift shops and consignment stores- and sometimes random clothes that were given to my mom or grandma from people that we know, so when I found out about Schoola, I was like great, another option for me! Another thing I really like is when I am shopping and it helps out with something at the same time, and as you’ll see Schoola is a great way to accomplish that.
Basically it is a different and more attractive form of fundraising for schools. I can remember when I was in school trying to sell wrapping paper and magazines and I never had any luck! I think that if we would have had this for an option, I would have had plenty of things to donate and in turn help out with raising money!
There are a few ways that a School can get involved with Schoola, including having a drive for a week where people can bring the items and drop them off , or by requesting a bag yourself and picking a school to receive the benefits! 40% of proceeds go to schools and this in turn helps fund art, music, field trips and PE!
Request a FREE BAG, FILL IT UP and SEND IT BACK FOR FREE!
To highlight the method of requesting a bag of your own, it is really simple! You just go by their site and request a schoola bag to be sent to you free of charge. When you receive the bag you fill it up with clothes (a few guidelines for what to send are coming up!)
The bag is pretty generous sized and will fit a decent amount of stuff! You can also pick what school you want to help, when I get ready to send in some items I’ll support the elementary school I went to 🙂 Oh and shipping it back? also free!
a few guidelines that you can use to go by on what to send are:
Like New
Freshly Laundered/Completely Dry
Clothes for Toddlers, kids and women
Dresses, Skirts, tops and bottoms
shoes
womens hand bag
Do Not Send:
Sleepwear, Undies, Socks
Mens/Infant Clothes (under 12 months)
Stretched/Stained/Faded clothes
Labels Missing/home made/altered
offensive language/content
counterfeit items
out of date items
Clean Out for Fresh New Year/Spring Cleaning and a better way to donate!
With it being still early in the new year and with it also being time when a lot of people consider some sort of spring cleaning this is a great time to go request a bag and help out a school at the same time I know for the most part when I clean out the closet /my chests I generally have yardsales with the items and then they don’t sale because for some reason here in the south clothes just aren’t big sellers!
When I have one at my grandmas you can’t take enough clothes! I usually end up taking the clothes that I don’t sale to the thrift shops around here but- I would much rather take some of my nicer things and send them here. I really wish I would have known about Schoola before I had my last major clean out- I will likely be doing one again soon because it is getting to that point where I can’t find anything and the seasons are changing and everything. I will def. be picking my better items to send to schoola!
Fresh Spring Goodies at Schoola
Now that I have told you all about Schoola I can tell you about cute spring items that they picked out and sent to me! I just kind of told them /showed them a few things that I liked and they took it from there and did a pretty good job!
First up they sent me a dress! now I know I profess to be all girly-girl but I really don’t have all that many dresses anymore! Ever since I got a muffin top it is hard to find anything that takes away from my stomach- so first of all I’ll show you the dress:
I was really happy with the “spring-ishness” it had to it! It even had tags still on it! It is actually a pretty expensive dress by Emily and Fin called and Abigail dress! I like the way it fit, the colors, and well I have always wanted a dress to wear for Easter so this year I finally got one! Here is a pic of me in it:
You all likely know how much I am all about purses- well they threw in one of those as well by a brand called tignanello which is a brand I am vaguely familliar with thanks to QVC and my mom. It is green and matches the dress quite well. It has lots of pockets and was in great condition as well!
I am very happy to have some spring goodies that match and that I can wear not only for Easter but just in general this spring! I like how they are in great condition and that they match so good together too! It is also nice that they are kind of “me” if you know what I mean. I will def. be ordering and donating to schoola to support them in the future!
