A Little Background, As Always (IE, David is a OCD Neat Freak)
So You probably know from several posts that I have written about how David is such the neat freak. I mean- in odd ways. Like.. he gets in the floor to clean. He has his own cleaning routines/rituals and he is really particular – so much so that there are a lot of things cleaning and domestic related I just let him do and I don’t even bother trying. I mean why waste time right? I mean there are things that I do, i’m not a total lazy bum my any means but I have my things, he has his things and sometimes we cross paths 🙂
One thing that he is really particular about is vacuuming of all things. He literally moves almost every bit of furniture in the living room every weekend when he vacuums, and I actually help him “tear up” and put back all the stuff in the bedroom (the dogs bed, the fan, pillows, throwing the covers up on the bed so they don’t drag, that kind of thing)Â I think he’s really particular because we used to only worry about vacuuming a rug when we lived in town and now we have all this carpet. which I am NOT a fan of and I think that is why I started having Asthma when we moved here- but that is another story right?
You know we also have Marley (dog) and Sam (Cat) + all my head of hair so.. things get furry in a hurry around this place. Then you have your general dirt and debri and it gets a little crazy you know? Plus I do have allergies & then the asthma that I just mentioned to- so we are always trying to do what we can to keep things calmed down and clean!
Hello, New Vacuum Thanks to Shark!
A Few years back I got connected with the lovely folks from Shark (and Ninja) and they sent over a vacuum for me to review and let me tell you -David used that thing hard core for several years. I tried a couple times to be able to connect back with them and review a vacuum cleaner again, but I didn’t have any luck- so David actually bought a Shark Vacuum back at tax time. We also had a standby vacuum that he actually got rid of as well. So Yes, we do currently have 2 vacuums and they are both Shark!
Our New Vacuum:
The Vacuum that they sent me to review is the  Shark APEX DuoClean Powered Lift-Away– We had our choice of a few, but since we already had the one- David was determined for us to have another vacuum and he wanted this one 🙂 This one is different compared to the one that I got to review before because it is your typical upright vacuum. The one we had before had several different ways to move it around, but we pretty well prefer the regular upright way anyways!
The other Vacuum we have is more compact and this one is a little bit bigger but we are good with that too. I know that David has been happy with the capacity of the canister as well. Really, the only thing he has had to say about it that wasn’t really positve was that it was a bit heavy, but he has gotten used to a more compact model in between so it isn’t anything that is really a big deal 🙂

Thoughts/Take-Aways & Summing it all up:
I am very happy with our latest addition to our cleaning routine, thanks to the Shark APEX DuoClean Powered Lift-Away. I love all the accessories and features of the vacuum- especially those that are related to not only the pet hair, but those that go above and beyond when it comes to their Advanced Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology® traps dust and allergens are trapped, emitting 10x fewer particles than HEPA standards require*.- I mean after you vacuum it up, some of it does get back into the air you know? The less of that coming out is better off for people like me!
Other than it being a little heavier than we are used to- like i say no big deal there- it is just a more “normal” weight than what we have had in a while.. We are very happy with it, and look forward to using it a lot more in the future of course!
