So…. back in October 2020 I wrote a post called our COVID adventure. Other than that little scare, we have done super well even with being exposed to COVID a few times that we knew of (the quarry has been eat up with it at several different points, and for me that was more indirect but probably the most of my exposure) then again, when you are out and about you never really know if someone were to have it, or if they might have it and not even know it! Anyways, we have been extremely lucky all the way around. I don’t really get out but every little bit, especially back then. No thrift shopping and CVS coupon runs for me in a good while. Really all we did back at that point was go to my mom and dads + the grocery store and that is it. Now we do get out a little bit more, but it still isn’t like it was.
Moving on….
David and I both woke up and didn’t feel very well on Sunday July 31st. I personally just chalked it up to having stayed up a little late and had some wine (I can drink or stay up but I have never quite learned to not mix the 2!) and you know it was the weekend and I tend to be more zonked on weekends for some reason + you know how I had went for so long and never felt well. I didn’t really think much about it. I know that David had kept saying he was cold and I told him he was crazy because it was hot as heck that day!
I had talked him into making us a steak (David makes THE BEST STEAKS) and he was actually cleaning our patio off, because we have this stupid tree right in front of our patio with pink blooms- which you would think I would be into, but I am not. all it does is block my view and make a mess. Oh, and after I threw several fits they FINALLY trimmed it a few years back during one of those hurricanes. It had been hitting the side of the apartment and making hella noise and they were like um.. (this place is so — ugh sometimes!
Anyways, we basically had a cloud burst earlier in that week and it threw that pink stuff ALL OVER the patio (my rug, the chairs, the wood, the grill cover.. ) He said he wanted to see if he had a fever and he had one of 101! So.. of course the way he is, his next logical step was to take a COVID test. He thought he messed one of them up so he had 2 out- and they both turned out to be Positive so he took a 3rd one (He seriously has OCD with stuff, and if there is a weird reaction that can happen to something it tends to happen to him + the panic and such.. it was super YIKES. Heck, he had an adverse reaction to PREDNISONE of all things the day we got Luna. his BP was up to 191/91!)
He managed to get a televisit with urgent care and they gave him a prescription to one of those pills that they have you can take if you have COVID. Here is a little breakdown of the rest of the week/into the next (ish) He had to miss the whole week of work of course. I can’t tell you much about his symptoms and such from day to day- well you’ll see why lol
Monday: I can’t really remember. I think this was the day he had my cuddle up heated blanket all day and slept a lot. I know I made raviolli that day so we would have it if I ended up getting sick.
Tuesday: I felt like I had a fever ALL DAY but I didn’t. I decide to take a COVID test and david says its negative. Then I got super cold and had a fever of 101! Took another test – still negative. Oh, and I started my period of course. I have had some random periods in the last few years with fevers, so I kind of figured that was going on again (seriously, in an 8 month span every other time-4x I had a period with a fever- no idea why!)
Wed: I felt like CRAP. Slept ALL DAY basically
Thursday I finally didn’t have a fever after about 9 that morning. I kind of felt like well.. you know when you start getting better when you’ve been sick. Still didn’t figure it was COVID on my end … I was riding that whole period and fever thing
Friday I was SUPER light headed and dizzy the entire day
Saturday: I was super weak, had a headache LEGIT ALL DAY that I tried EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD to get rid of.
Sunday: still had a headache but it was more light and SUPER DUPER weak!
Monday: David went back to work and I was so weak I couldn’t EVEN. I had hoped I would feel better before he went back to work but no such like. + It was so hot, and it just made things worse. Taking Mars and Luna out did me in!
Tuesday: more of the same. I ended up taking another COVID test and it was positive. I figure I probably had it from Tuesday/Wed of the previous week. I took it because of the weakness/fatigue. I knew that even with my period and such that I couldn’t be that kind of weak without some sort of something going on!
David tested Negative that day, and I finally tested negative that Saturday. The Fatigue lasted for me into the next week!
Thankfully we came through it and it wasn’t any worse than it was!
