I have to say that if I wasn’t moving I would have wrote a much longer response for this book! I just felt so bad that it is a day late! It really is an awesome well written book and I really enjoyed it!
I recently joined The Bloggers Bookclub, and lo and behold the first book in the first newsletter just called out to me!
The book is called Too Many Cooks: Kitchen Adventures with 1 mom, 4 kids, and 102 recipes and it is written by Emily Franklin.
As soon as I got it I started reading it, and it was captivating from the get-go. One of the most interesting books I have had the pleasure to read in quite some time actually!
This book can’t really be classified as a cookbook, even though it does have 102 recipes! It is more of a story that revolves around food! Food is a theme throughout the book that makes them remember certain times, places, and events! Food is also what unites them all together as a family!
This book was VERY descriptive! The imagery was simply amazing! I felt, as though when she was describing certain places and events, that I was right there while the events were taking place. I felt like I was eating the food!
There were alot of moments in the book that made me recall many things from my childhood! I always say I can’t remember much from being a child, and my dad makes fun of me by saying I slept all the time! lol.
Anyways, for an example, She describes when her pantry shelves collapse and everything gets broken and ruined. At my house we had a similar instance with my mom & dads closet (and later on even mine).
The book had a ton of recipes that i have marked to try later on! I can’t wait. They sound delicious even though I will be adapting some of them…alot of fish will be substituted for chicken and cheese will be left out. those are two of the foods i’m allergic to! I am also a picky eater as well..
I highly recommend you check out this book! It is well worth the read! I look forward to re-reading it as well!
