You all know how I have a reputation of being a picky person? Well- I do not know where this comes from, lol- Eh I know I am a picky eater according to some (hello allergies, religious preferences from when I was younger, and then everyone has things that they don’t like!) I guess there are other things that I am picky about as well, but one thing in particular are scents, especially when it comes to body products! I think a lot of people are like that though- generally I won’t even try anything new, and I don’t like scents in lotions at all, even if it matches whatever body spray I am using!
I had the chance though, to try out Hard Candy fragrances, and I can remember always seeing the ads for Hard Candy when I was younger and always wanting something of theirs but for some reason never had anything of theirs(Crazy right?) I figured they would be worth a try! I didn’t even realize that they were exclusively sold at Walmart so it is is even more crazy that I haven’t ended up with something from them by now, because I am always at Walmart!
They have released 2 scents that come in either a body mist or an eau de parfum! They are simply called Pink and Black! I personally am more of a body mist type of gal, but I don’t mind wearing a good smelling perfume if I am going out and about somewhere nice 🙂 Or- actually when it is cooler outside, I get chilled easily and don’t like doing body spray, I know I am weird right? I got to try one of each scent, and in each variety. I got the Hard Candy Pink body mist, and the Hard Candy Black Eau De Parfum.
The Body mist comes in a 8.0 oz bottle and is priced at $6.99 and the perfume actually comes in a 1.7 oz bottle for $12.97. There will also be gift sets this holiday season that will be a fragrance, a mist and a lipstick with a to be determined price. I know that the scent that I commonly well would be about $18 a bottle just for a body spray, so this is way cheaper and very comparable. I also like you could get a spray and a perfume for essentially what I am paying for just the spray!
I figured the best way to do this review was just to break down what I thought of each scent and just leave it at that. I know it is a little basic but I think it should work! I have to say I don’t think I have ever done a fragrance review before so.. fun stuff 🙂
The Pink scent is my favorite, because it is what I would consider “me” as in- it smells like the stuff that I wear already! It is a very light scent that is what you would consider a romantic sort of scent, with a bit of a musk (which I generally don’t like but it is really subtle) The scent is kind of a layered scent that breaks down like this: california tangerine & pink passion fruit fluffy pink peony & sheer jasmine and vanilla sugar & sensual musk. Of course, my bottle of this scent was the spray and it came in your typical spray bottle and was decorated with hearts!
The Black scent surprised me that I would like it because it sounded like it would be more of a “hard” sort of scent but it wasn’t and I really liked it because it didn’t have the musk that the pink had(even though like i said it was very subtle!) It is a bit more of a mix of scents to me because it has fruit, floral and more! The scent profile for this one is lush kiwi & juicy mango quince blossom & vanilla absolute and sugared iris & warm amber. I really like the way they did the bottle for this one since it was from the perfume line. It is a glass bottle that is black with pink hearts and the cap is heart shaped(plastic).
I have really enjoyed having 2 new scents to try out thanks to Hard Candy ,and I am looking forward to wearing them in the future! I like the scents and I love the way that they are priced and of course that they are available at my favorite store ever- Walmart!
