The following is a review of alcohol and you need to be of legal drinking age in your country to enjoy alcoholic beverages. Drink Responsibly!
Last year during my Holiday Gift Guide 2015, I had the chance to work with the wonderful folks at Kobrand Wines on a review that you can find here: Nichole’s Holiday Gift Guide Kobrand Wines & Spirits Review So when they asked me if I wanted to review for them again, well I wasn’t going to say “no” for sure- especially since I love reviewing wines so I can try new things and all of that good stuff!
As usual, I will just break down the flavors and tell you a bit about them and my thoughts /opinions,etc because it is just so much easier when I do things that way. Actually, I get really excited when I get a review that has multiple items/flavors or what not because it makes them that much easier to write about! I got 4 different varieties this go around so- well lets just get down to business shall we?
Caposaldo Moscato IGT
I should save the best for last, but I think I will start out with it this time. I am talking about the Caposaldo Moscato IGT and it was really REALLY good! Now, if you have followed along by now you probably know that I am more of what I would consider to be a red wine person but if it is a yummy wine , by all means bring on white or even pink! This was one of the best wines I have ever drank.
You may also know that I am a big moscato fan so this worked right out. I wish that I would have took the time to chill it a bit. It would be an awesome summer wine for sitting out on the patio on a hot day for sure. If you didn’t know Moscato is a sweet wine which I also prefer and this one in particular had a little bit of a fizz to it and it was almost like a light soda. The flavor notes were apricot and peach which are also two of my favorite flavors!
The Seeker Riesling
Next up, is The Seeker Riesling and I really liked it as well. It had a bit of a tangy factor to it that mixed in well with a light fruit flavor. This one in case you didn’t know is also a white wine.. I think I am starting to actually like white wine go figure! It also has some peach flavor to it as well as pineapple and I am not generally a fan with pineapple but it mixes well with the peach.
This one was an easy drink, and it is suggested to be paired with things that you might find hard to pair wines with which is a neat tidbit. It was one of those screw cap wines which is always good because I swear sometimes I do not have a corkscrew readily available and the one that I do have is kinda a fancy one and new and I don’t work it the best in the world just yet. Oh and this way you can just screw the lid back on and enjoy it at another time too , in case you don’t finish it right away!
The Seeker Malbec
The Seeker Malbec was my only red wine this go around! This one was a very what I would say is a DARK wine. It has spice, a bit of an acidic quality and black cherry going on. It is a bit more bitter than what I would normally drink but it wasn’t horrible.
I know a lot of people like a more bitter type of wine and I like to experience new things sometimes and I will agree that stuff doesn’t have to be overly sweet and flowery if you know what I am saying .. this wine is even highly awarded with 92 points from the San Francisco International wine competition. Also it is a blended wine of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Bonarda
I would like to try this one again and be a little bit more into the experience and maybe pair it with something to see if I would like it even more!
St Francis Chardonnay
You all may or may not know I am always like “watch me drink the chardonnay-nay” and well I am sure you can figure out the tune to that right?I actually didn’t start liking chardonnay until I got some a while back as part of a review. However they all aren’t the same I suppose- I guess I should have known that.
My least favorite of the wines I got was the St Francis Chardonnay and I really don’t know where it went wrong for me .. the description was one of melon , citrus and pineapple and I mean even though I say I don’t really like pineapple in general it does for the most part mix well and then I like it!
The only way that I can describe what I thought it was like is like it was turned to vinegar! I actually love all sorts of vinegar and this wasn’t even on that kind of level.. it was just not right for me! It was very dry and really hard to drink for me.
