REVIEW

When it comes to making food, I like things that are hearty & filling and can generally be bought for a pretty decent price! So I guess it isn’t any wonder that Pasta fits that bill! I am also considered a picky eater (don’t get me started, I have a ton of food allergies, foods I don’t eat for religious reasons, and then things I just don’t like!) I think David and I have some sort of pasta at least 3 times a week if not more!

So when The Pasta Shoppe wanted to work on me on doing a review of their pasta, I was VERY interested! They offered to send me “a box of goodies” and they weren’t lying either. When I got the package my mom was over for a visit and I had to totally ward her off because I thought she was going to hop into her car with my pasta! She gets as excited as I do about my reviews. It is really cute 🙂

I received 9 awesome goodies which included:Cat Shaped Pasta,Tarheel shaped pasta from their collegiate line, Wintertime Chilli, Vineyard pasta salad, Angel Hair pasta Nests, Meringues , Chicken noodle soup, thanks a million shaped pasta and girlfriend shaped pasta.

 

The Pasta shoppe has a very big selection of pastas and goodies, if you couldn’t tell so far. There is truly something for everyone! They make their pasta in small batches and use natural ingredients. They even use pasta machines that are from Italy! I like the dedication to quality and the tiny touches that they use to make their pasta be authentic and original.

The Pasta Shoppe also has a fundraising program called fun pasta fundraising, where you can sell pasta (you know instead of that same old same old stuff that usually gets sold!) for your team, school, organization,etc. They have been doing this since 1997 and you can earn 40-50% of your sales! Something I really thought was original.. or well come on I haven’t been in school or any other group selling something in a lot of years..is the fact that you can even share it online so that people that you wouldn’t ordinarily get the chance to let order and help you out can do so.

One thing I really like about the pasta shoppes website, other than the fact that it is well put together and easy to find your way around, is the fact that they even have recipes so that you can get inspiration for your pastas! They also have where if you submit a recipe and they use it , they will send you a box of goodies! I think that is pretty neat!

I really liked that the Pasta salad, Chilli, and Chicken Noodle soup were one dish type meals and that they were quick and easy and those are my favorite types of things to make! I am a no frills type of gal for the most part when it comes to cooking and I am always looking for convenient options. These gave me that, and they tasted amazing (and this comes from a picky eater mind you 😉 )

As far as the shaped pasta, they are just totally fun ways to make something that you probably make all the time just a little bit different. I know that I was thinking about getting some to use at a family event because I know everyone would think that it would be totally amazing! I will have to keep it in mind!

Something totally random and unexpected that you will probably get a chuckle out of is the fact that i have never had Meringues  before. AT ALL. David hadn’t either…so I didn’t feel too left out and sheltered. I know for a fact we will DEF be ordering some more of these. I don’t know how they guessed but Vanilla is one of my favorite flavors. These were Divine and seriously one of the neatest and yummiest things I ever have ate!
