Does anyone know what the first thing I ever dressed up for on a career day was? A Nurse! I am pretty sure I wanted to dress up as a teacher, but I mean, really, dressing up in my little white outfit with my Fisher Price medical bag & accessories was so much more fun! Also,I believe more easy to figure out what kind of look I was going for! (Me Circa 1989 !) I did end up going away to college to be a teacher like I always dreamed of, but in the long run I still came back to my medical background and got a medical office administration degree in 2009. I currently don't have a job, but if I weren't married I would probably either go back and finish my teaching degree(because for me, I don't want to graduate from anywhere other than appalachian state for that, even if it does take me a little longer. I know their program is more detailed and that they have always been known as a teachers college!) I think I might even would check into a Traveling Nursing Job, … [Read more...]
Private Tutor
In high school, I wasn't the brightest crayon in the box. Well actually I was smart, don't get me wrong. I had been embarrassed and felt held back for so long by this point I wish that maybe my parents, or even myself for that matter would have looked online for me some individual attention on the things that I didn't understand, and maybe got me a private math tutor earlier on. I don't blame them that they didn't, they tried to just rely on what they knew and figured my … [Read more...]
Renting books is the way to go!
I used to spend a fortune on my college textbooks when I first started out going to school. I did try to get the used ones at the school bookstore, but hee hee financial aide people always got to go first, and well.. they were all about trying to spend less of their money on the books so they could have more left over for other things! I did start buying my books from Amazon & Half which helped alot, but still it wasn't too fun. When I went to Appalachian State University we RENTED our books through the school. I think for about 30 bucks a semester you got every required book you needed for all of your classes! Novel idea right? why not just rent them and save money and all that good stuff huh? When I started back at community college in the fall of 2006, that's exactly what I started looking into was renting my books! Sometimes I couldn't find what I needed, and renting books wasn't as popular then as it is now! It was hard to find EVERY book, and there weren't many places … [Read more...]
