When we first moved into this apartment I had such high hopes with decorating it because it was so different from the other places that we have lived (well, considering that 2 of the 3 apartments we lived at were at the same place!) I was really super excited to have an actually patio and quickly ran out and got pink and green chairs for outside! I had hoped to actually put up pink lights out there but David wasn’t going for it! I was pretty bummed, but he did let me put up Christmas lights that year so I was happy!
However, I wanted lights for other times of the year, but Christmas lights were not really what I was going for and I didn’t really know what else to do… then I became acquainted with the orignal star Shower! David picked me up one , and I was so excited to be able to have different colors of lights and different patterns and what not that I could use for different things. I have used them not only for christmas but even at one point I used the green ones when Kurt Busch won the Daytona 500! I get creative let me tell you!
So when they came out with Additional items in the Star Shower line, I was hopeful that maybe I could get them to review, and well it took me a little while , but I managed to work it out just in time for Christmas! I was SO excited to get both the Star Shower Slide Show & The Star Shower Window Wonderland! At first I thought I might not get them both, and I was trying to decide and I just couldn’t so I was glad to be able to get both!
I figure the best way to do this post since it is a combo deal is to just break down each one and let you know the details and my thoughts and the like 🙂
Star Shower Slide Show:
This is the one David was the most excited about , back when I thought I would have to pick just one or the other! My absolute favorite thing about the Star Shower Slide Show is it can be used for MULTIPLE occasions not just one or two holidays!
You have 12 slides- 6 of which are Christmas slides (However the one that is just snowflakes could be just for winter in general!)There are 2 Halloween slides and then the 4 additional ones for 4th of July, Birthday,Easter, Valentines day (which could also be used for anniversaries!)
You not only get a lawn stake, but the indoor base (which with not really having a yard, this is what I used out on the patio)
It is fairly simple to operate- you just insert the slide into the holder (and don’t worry you can’t do it the “wrong way”) and then you can simply just choose the motion of the image or you can stop the motion as well!
The one thing that I don’t like is that it doesn’t have a remote control! If I had to go further than the patio I would probably not like that so much, especially in colder weather!
Star Shower Window Wonderland
I absolutely think that the Star Shower Window Wonderland is one of the cutest things ever. I was so excited by this one when I first found out about it! I think what really stood out to me was it was so vintage looking and unique in the fact that it plays little movie clips (they are 15 seconds long and they repeat) I like the idea of being able to play cute little movies for people passing by a ton- especially the little kids around our apartment place!
Basically you just put the screen on your desired window and then you can use the projector to select one of 12 movies! There are 6 Christmas Movies santa magic, Gingerbread, Cardinals (which you could just use as a general winter scene!) holiday train, puppy presents and waving santa. There are also 6 Halloween movies- spooky graveyard, dancing skeletons, chilling zombies, chainsaw, scary eyeballs and scarecrow.
I like with this one that you use it all inside, and then you can view it outdoors. I also like that you can make your selection for your desired movie very easily and that you can choose to do it vertically or horizontally – whichever way works best for your situation!
Summing It Up:
I Know that I haven’t had my Star Shower Slide Show & Star Shower Window Wonderland very long, but I am most def. looking forward to enjoying them for various holidays in the future! I like how they are so multifunctional and they help perk it up a notch and not just be plain lights(which I still like my original star shower i’m just saying these help mix it up a lot!)
I hope that in the future they might add some additional slides that you can add to the slide show one, and maybe they will come up with a few other ideas for a window wonderland # 2 or something where it would have different events and holidays. I also hope that maybe they will take my advice of making a remote for the devices too!
In the end though I really do love these and I do look forward to using them in the years to come!
