In case you aren’t a loyal fan of the blog, let me enlighten you on one little tid bit- I absolutely love reviewing food/snack food and my favorites are those that are salty! I am not very much for sweets (even though I do occasionally dork out on some cake or something like that) I also like spicy and tangy things. So when I got a chance to review for Good Thins, I was pretty darn excited- especially since goodness knows I am always on a mission to find some sort of way to cut chips out even though they are my favorite snack- I know the def. aren’t the best thing for me at the same time!
Hello Good Thins:A healthy way to snack!
Good Thins was kind enough to send over a variety box of all 8 of their flavors! Some of them are made with Potatoes, some with Rice and there is even one box made with chickpeas- and more on the way!
First up I will give you a little bit more information about the healthy goodness that is Good Thins, and then break all the flavors down. Let me just give you a little preview and tell you that a few boxes that we have tried we have already went out and bought a few boxes of because we liked them THAT much!
Good Thins are made with REAL ingridents like wheat, potato and rice! They also have no artificial flavors, colors, cholesteroal, partially hydrogenated oils or high fructose corn syrup! In the potato varieties they even have 60% less fat than leading brands of potato chips and they also have 4g of fat vs 10g that you would find in those potato chips!
All About The Flavors:
Potato:Spinach & Garlic– These were from the potato ones and they were the first ones that I tried- I figured spinach is pretty healthy in general and I have a mad obsession with Garlic- I also happen to like most greens in general and eat them plain(as in cooked or raw) I didn’t know quite what to expect- but these were REALLY good. I don’t think I have ever had spinach and garlic together. Also? David doesn’t hardly ever eat anything with a green in it- unless I sneak it in- even though he drinks those green based smoothie drinks you can buy! He ate what I didn’t eat (I had to stop myself) and then he went out and bought more of these ones. I really like these as a alternative to chips
Original- Potato: These were just as good as eating a chip! They were thin, had a good amount of salt and well- I probably could use these to totally replace chips in my world if it came down to it! I always have a thing for potatoes- I like them pretty much any way you can mention and that is likely why chips are my favorite snack! I really felt good about eating these and I didn’t feel as -bah humbug about eating them afterwards!
Sweet Potato: I do like sweet potatoes, I just hardly ever make them! I like them loaded up with butter and brown sugar or of course candied yams right? I haven’t got on board with the craze over sweet potato fries either- that just seems wrong to me. I really liked though that these had that sweet aspect as well as the potato and salt going on as well…because sometimes even I like something sweet!
Chickpea: Garlic & Herb: So I really really love chick peas. I eat them on Salads all the time when I am out, I even buy them for the house to put in my salads! I have been meaning to check out humus at some point too because I am pretty sure that I will enjoy it. These of course had that going on plus my favorite garlic..and well herbs – what was not to like here? this was another one of the ones that David and I have bought more of so far! I actually had to hide these away to keep from eating a whole box at one time.
Rice:Sea Salt and Pepper: These were more of a cracker type – and they had quite a pepper kick to them as well! kind of reminded me of salt and pepper chips in a way- which are also a fave of mine!
Simply Salt: pretty much like the salt and pepper but minus the pepper of course! I always like “plain” things -I am even a huge fan of plain chips and even vanilla ice cream if that tells you anything. I like simple things!
Veggie Blend: The flavors of this one reminded me of something southwestern- especially since they are made with red bell peppers, corn and black beans!
Poppy Seed and Sesame Seed: These have that toatsted sort of flavor you would expect with the seeds being in them.. they are also awesomley salty!
Summing It Up:
I really enjoyed getting to try Good Thins, and have already replenished a few flavors in my snack stockpile! I can’t wait to see what they may come up with in the future and get to try out some more interesting snacks! I think they are off to a great start and have a great variety so far!
