When I was young, We didn't own a computer! I can't even remember anyone we knew that had one! Back then of course the internet, email, etc was just getting started. (I think I was in 4th or 5th grade when email first came about)And, for the record I was in 10th grade when we finally got a computer and internet! I was always fascinated by technology. I can remember going in the store and looking at all the things in the electronics aisle in the toy section. I am talking about those little things like giga pets and even more so the my secret diaries/secret senders! I still have my Sabrina The Teenage Witch Secret Diary. I also used to have the secret sender. They always had the most cool little things on them like games, and diaries and such! I recently got the opportunity to review a product called My Secret Circle, which has taken this concept into the social networking generation! I received the B.F.F pack which included two drives! My Secret Circle is a USB Drive (in keychain … [Read more...]
The Glamour Of Grammar
As I've mentioned before I'm a total book freak!! Something, you might not know about me, unless you have snooped around a bit on my site, is that I majored in not only Elementary Education, but I pulled a double major as an English major! I am actually a grammar freak! Like I say, you can't tell that by my site. I do what I do, and try to keep it neat, but hey, it's my blog for goodness sake! I have wrote so many papers and stuff over the years, I try to give myself a break when I can. (I also like root words/pre fixes and suffixes and trying to decode the meanings of big word!) Ahum. Anyways, I got the chance to review The Glamour of Grammar: A guide to the magic and mystery of practical english by Roy Peter Clark (that is a link to the publishers page). The book was really easy to read and quite fascinating! There were all kinds of helpful tips and advice. At the end of each chapter there is a keepsakes section, which include sometimes things to do,(there was one about … [Read more...]
Dentek Comfort Clean Floss Picks
A few weeks back, I received a package of Dentek Comfort Clean Floss Picks for reviewing. (I have to apologize for not getting this review up sooner!) Honestly I havent ever really gotten into flossing and all that kind of thing. If i get something stuck between my teeth I will grab a dental pick and get it out though! I do however prefer dental pics as opposed to using regular floss, this much I could tell you! The Dentek Comfort Clean Floss Picks come in a package of 90. They are Mint in flavor. They are not only a "Dental Pick" but they also have an old fashioned tooth pick of sorts on the end, and there is a tounge scrapper. Also, they have a flouride coating and work well for tight teeth and sensative gums! I let my parents have some of my package of dental floss picks, because they are always using dental picks!(blame them for the reason I got behind on writing this review. they were out of town a few weekends that I was gonna go over and have them check the picks … [Read more...]
Costume Review!!!
About 2-3 weeks ago I was talking to david about halloween, and that this year I wanted to dress up, so if we go over to the biker bar like we did last year, i'll have something to wear. He already spent a freaking fortune on me a costume one time before, but I gained weight so...unless i want to look pudgy well i wouldn't wear it!! I even spend hours in the halloween store last year trying things on but couldn't ever quite get what i was going for. that and the fact that everything that did fit, even on the "discount" was still unaffordable for us! Well would you believe the exact same day I got the opp. to review a costume of my choosing?I swear it was ment to be! I knew i pretty much was wanting something "sexy" but not to revealing to wear into public (which is really hard to find actually...I seriously don't want to show my tush and boobs to the world!) I also really like the styles of the playboy brand of costumes (even though that makes it more likely to be showing all my … [Read more...]
The Disappearing Spoon
I am such a book feign. seriously 1000+ ( I know it has to be more close to 2000 by now) and I can't say NO when I see a decent one at the thrift shop, or even more so for review! One of these days i'm gonna have to either have a massive cleanout, our start my own library. Seriously I have so many books I can't keep them at my & david's. No, 95% are at mom's! I have books on everything under the sun, from childrens books (for that child that i want to have one day!) to books I read as a teenager, etc. The most recent book that i had the chance to review is The Disappearing Spoon by Sam Kean. It took me a little while to exactly decide if it was my cup of tea to review. I'm more into romances, and teenagey books like Pretty Little Liars and things of that nature. This book is more of an informational book, which is something I hardly ever go for, because i'm just one of those people who felt like i got enough of that when i was in school (high school and all ..ahum 7 years … [Read more...]
The I Hate To Cook Book
I love books...I have over a thousand! I also love cookbooks...and even more so I love vintage books/cookbooks! When I saw the opportunity to review the 50th anniversary edition of the I hate to cook book by Peg Bracken I knew I had to check it out. Honestly, cooking gets on my nerves for the most part. even more so trying to figure out what to cook is something that gets on my nerves. So basically I do hate to cook! With 3 million copies sold, and being 50 years old, I knew that this book had to be good! It is broken into 13 sections + a equivalents section. There are sections on everything from luncheons, to little kids parties! One of my favorite sections was the section of household hints! there were some awesome hints in this section!! This book to have been written 50 years ago, is exceptionally still relevant today. Back then women were expected to do so much more around the house. Now a days you share that responsibility with others, including your children, you … [Read more...]
